Process Automation Lead (Triconex and Foxboro):
This is an elite, hybrid role requiring a rare combination of technical systems mastery and people leadership.
Must have proven on-site field commissioning credentials, the ability to independently debug plant-level DCS/SIS failures without supervision, and the executive maturity to lead L1 Process Automation team and manage complex APAC client relationships.
Technical Support Team Lead & Principal Escalation Authority Process Automation & Safety Systems. (Triconex and Foxboro DCS)
Seeking a high-calibre Technical Support Team Lead to serve as the principal regional escalation authority across Greater India and the wider APAC landscape. This dual-focus leadership role is responsible for directing Level 1/Level 2 technical support operations, driving people management and coaching, and personally delivering deep-tier Level 3 diagnostic resolution for mission-critical Process Automation accounts.
This role bridges enterprise customers, regional site operations, field services, systems integration, and global product engineering. The ideal candidate will combine deep architectural mastery across the Foxboro DCS and Triconex SIS ecosystems with proven leadership capabilities to mentor engineers, govern operational queue health, manage multi-geography stakeholder escalations, and protect client plant uptime in mission-critical industries (Refineries, Chemicals, Power Industries).
- Technical Escalation & High-Severity Incident Command: Act as the ultimate regional escalation authority for complex, plant-critical failures, communication outages, system halts, and critical software/hardware anomalies under aggressive SLA deadlines.
- People Leadership & Technical Mentorship: Lead, coach, and supervise a frontline team of technical support engineers; establish quality governance, conduct technical performance assessments, balance workload distribution, and drive structured technical enablement and development roadmaps.
- APAC Installed-Base Intelligence & Critical Diagnostics: Diagnose intricate operational and legacy installation challenges across diverse APAC customer topologies; leverage systems-level thinking to map multi-generational automation layers (from legacy I/A Series to up-to-date virtualized DCS) and resolve site-specific operating bottlenecks.
- Lab-Based Advanced Failure Reproduction & Forensic Analysis:
Lead physical simulation setups within the laboratory environment to replicate complex field defects, analyse memory/core dumps, reproduce controller communication failures, and validate firmware patches and logic workarounds prior to site deployment.
- Field-to-Support Operational Alignment: Interface seamlessly with field service engineering units and plant asset leads during critical turnarounds, outages, or commissioning phases, applying field-tested engineering acumen to de-escalate complex site issues.
- High-Integrity Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) Governance: Review and debug safety logic sequences, emergency shutdown systems (ESD), and high-availability hardware (Triconex) to enforce compliance with IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 standards, loop safety mandates, and SIL3 parameters.
- Complex Industrial Network & Communications Troubleshooting: Own end-to-end diagnostic reviews of mission-critical networking, including The MESH topology, industrial switch routing, redundancy failover mechanisms, VLAN segmentation, and multi-protocol industrial conversions (Modbus TCP/IP, OPC DA/UA, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus).
- Process Logic Engineering & Narrative Dissection: Audit, troubleshoot, and validate custom control loops, continuous batch logic, complex interlock matrices, and sequence flowcharts directly against client Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;) and functional control narratives.
- Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) & Knowledge Leadership: Author high-tier diagnostic playbooks, root-cause investigation whitepapers, and operational troubleshooting frameworks to continuously elevate regional first-contact resolution and support delivery efficiency.
- Industrial Cybersecurity Governance & Installed-Base Hardening: Oversee OT cybersecurity compliance across regional installed bases, identifying vulnerabilities, validating patch integrity, and enforcing secure industrial network protocols (IEC 62443, perimeter firewalls, and encrypted communication layers)
to safeguard plant-critical automation assets against operational risks.
- Customer Relationship Management & Net Satisfaction (NPS): Establish and maintain trusted-advisor partnerships with key plant stakeholders and internal cross-functional leaders to protect customer satisfaction, accelerate time-to-resolution, and reinforce brand reliability.
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring operational bottlenecks and systemic support constraints, converting them into structured continuous improvement initiatives and Lean workflows that enhance team efficiency.
- Technical Governance & Operational Cadence: Direct structured technical reviews, team syncs, case health retrospectives, and milestone governance meetings to maintain proactive queue management and project momentum.
- Cross-Functional Solution Architecture: Define, review, and govern technical requirements across multidisciplinary teams (Product Engineering, Quality, Field Services, and Sales) to deliver robust, scalable engineering solutions for regional customer bases.
- Regional Escalation Authority & Account Governance: Act as the principal escalation owner for all India and APAC customer escalations, orchestrating rapid multi-tiered technical responses, managing high-stakes client communications, and driving plant-critical recovery actions to protect customer uptime and business continuity.
- Bachelors or master’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 8–12+ years of demonstrated success within Process Automation, DCS/SIS engineering, and technical escalation operations.
- Minimum 3+ years of direct, hands-on on-site field engineering experience (commissioning, system startup, site acceptance testing [SAT], site troubleshooting, and direct plant client interface).
- Demonstrated experience mentoring, leading, or supervising technical teams, balancing queue workloads, tracking service delivery KPIs, and handling operational governance.
- Proven capability in managing enterprise accounts across the APAC region, demonstrating strong cross-cultural client engagement, critical thinking, and technical communication skills under mission-critical downtime scenarios.
- Good verbal and written communication with ability to analyse data and metrics and represent the trends and patterns to leadership in reviews.
