ROLE OVERVIEW The Manager Quality Control & Quality Assurance will be responsible for the overall Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) functions across Unit 1, Unit 2 and Unit 3.

The position will be responsible for ensuring consistent quality standards, effective laboratory operations, compliance with approved specifications and procedures, maintenance of QA systems, audit readiness, documentation, quality improvement and coordination with Production, R&D;, Stores and Operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Overall Quality Control & Quality Assurance Management

- Take overall responsibility for Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities across all three units of the organization.
- Establish, implement and maintain consistent QC and QA systems, procedures and quality standards across all units.
- Oversee and monitor all RM, In-Process and Finished Goods testing carried out across Unit 1, Unit 2 and Unit 3.
- Ensure that all testing is conducted as per approved specifications, SOPs, testing methods and defined quality standards.
- Review and approve QC test results and ensure timely release / clearance of Raw Materials and Finished Goods.
- Ensure consistency in testing methods, quality standards and reporting practices across all three units.
- Guide, supervise and develop the QC team across the units.
- Ensure adequate manpower, laboratory resources, chemicals, reagents and testing equipment are available for smooth QC operations.
- Monitor overall compliance with applicable quality standards and drive continuous improvement of the QA and QC systems.

2. Testing & Analysis

- Possess strong practical knowledge of RM, In-Process and Finished Goods testing and guide the team in carrying out the same.
- Ensure timely and accurate testing of Raw Materials before approval for production use.
- Monitor in-process testing at defined stages of production.
- Ensure Finished Goods are tested and cleared before dispatch.
- Review RM / FG analytical reports and investigate deviations or abnormal results.
- Ensure testing of Unit 2 and Unit 3 samples is carried out effectively and within defined timelines.
- Have working knowledge of AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy), volumetric analysis, pH, weighing balance, water testing and COD testing.
- Ensure daily testing of DM Water, MIDC Water and Distilled Water.
- Oversee environmental and compliance-related QC testing, including COD testing of ETP-treated water.
- Ensure proper maintenance and availability of laboratory chemicals and reagents.

3. Quality Assurance Systems & Documentation

- Ensure implementation and maintenance of QA systems, procedures and quality standards across all units.
- Prepare, review and validate various QA documents, records, procedures and quality-related documentation.
- Ensure preparation and maintenance of ISO and QC-related documentation.
- Ensure accurate and timely entries in batch sheets, lot / sub-lot records and relevant QC registers.
- Review and ensure proper preparation of Lot,



Sublot and Batch Sheets.
- Ensure analytical documents are properly filed as part of the GRN process.
- Ensure proper preservation and retention of control samples as per defined protocols.
- Ensure proper documentation and closure of deviations, OOS results, non-conformities and corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with applicable quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement in QA systems and processes.

4. Calibration, Laboratory Controls & Quality Records

- Ensure timely calibration and verification of QC instruments and equipment.
- Review and maintain calibration records and laboratory documentation.
- Ensure proper maintenance of cleaning records for laboratory equipment and glassware.
- Ensure laboratory equipment, instruments, chemicals and reagents are maintained in appropriate condition and are readily available.
- Ensure proper maintenance and control of laboratory records and quality-related documents.
- Review and approve Certificates of Analysis (COA) for Finished Goods.

5. Audits & Regulatory Compliance

- Prepare for and coordinate ISO, regulatory and customer audits.
- Independently face and effectively handle ISO and other external audits, including providing required documents, records and information.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure audit readiness across all three units.
- Plan and conduct internal audits twice a year.
- Identify and document audit observations, non-conformities and areas of improvement.
- Ensure timely corrective and preventive actions and closure of audit observations / non-conformities.
- Monitor implementation of corrective actions and ensure their effectiveness.
- Ensure continued compliance with applicable quality, safety, regulatory and environmental requirements.

6. OOS, Deviations & Quality Improvement

- Ensure proper investigation and documentation of OOS (Out of Specification) results, deviations and quality-related issues.
- Work closely with Production to identify the root cause of quality issues arising from manufacturing processes.
- Drive appropriate corrective and preventive actions for quality-related issues.
- Identify recurring quality issues and recommend preventive measures.
- Provide QC / QA inputs for process improvement, troubleshooting and quality consistency.
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and continuously improve quality systems.

7. Environmental, R&D; & Process Support

- Ensure laboratory testing is carried out in accordance with applicable quality, safety and environmental requirements.
- Support R&D; in new product development,



process trials and batch testing.
- Coordinate with R&D; and Production teams during new product trials and process improvements.
- Have a robust understanding of manufacturing processes, process parameters and critical quality points of the products being manufactured.
- Understand the relationship between process conditions and final product quality and guide the team accordingly.
- Provide technical QC / QA inputs during process trials, troubleshooting and product quality investigations.

8. Coordination with Other Departments

- Coordinate closely with Production, Stores, R&D;, Operations and other departments for smooth QC and QA functioning.
- Ensure timely sample collection, testing and clearance in coordination with Production.
- Coordinate with Stores regarding RM hold / release status.
- Promptly escalate OOS, deviations, audit observations and critical quality concerns to the concerned management.
- Work closely with Production to ensure quality requirements are understood and consistently implemented.
- Ensure QC and QA activities are aligned with overall production and business requirements.

9. Team Management & Development

- Lead and supervise the QC / QA team across Unit 1, Unit 2 and Unit 3.
- Allocate responsibilities and ensure effective utilization of available manpower.
- Train and guide team members on testing methods, SOPs, documentation, quality systems and laboratory practices.
- Identify training and development requirements of the QC / QA team.
- Ensure discipline, accuracy, accountability and timely completion of QC / QA activities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

- M.Sc. in Chemistry is mandatory.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance / Chemical Manufacturing.
- Strong hands-on and managerial experience in RM, In-Process and Finished Goods testing.
- Experience in managing QC / QA activities and teams.
- Working knowledge of AAS, volumetric analysis, water testing, COD, pH and laboratory instruments.
- Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and process-related QC activities.
- Experience in QA systems, ISO documentation, internal audits and external / customer audits.
- Strong knowledge of calibration, COA, batch records, quality documentation and laboratory compliance.
- Experience in handling OOS, deviations, non-conformities, root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions.
- Should be capable of independently overseeing QC and QA operations across multiple manufacturing units.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with Production, R&D;, Stores and Operations teams.
- Should demonstrate the ability to drive quality systems, compliance and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Should be capable of taking ownership of the overall Quality Control and Quality Assurance function and working independently with senior management.
