: Senior Mainframe Developer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to join our infrastructure and development team. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise mainframe applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and seamless operations within financial systems.

Role & Responsibilities

- Application Development: Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mission-critical mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, IMS, JCL, and CICS.
- Requirements & Solutions: Collaborate cross-functionally with team members and stakeholders to analyze business requirements and provide robust technical solutions in a timely manner.
- Operations & Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues related to mainframe computer operations, batch jobs, and communications networks within JES2/3 environments using tools like SDSF and Xpediter.
- Performance & Reliability: Ensure the maximum efficiency, security, and reliability of mainframe production features, data management systems (VSAM), and transaction networks.
- Code Management & Quality: Utilize source code management tools (e.g., Endevor, Changman)



and adhere to best practices for code deployment, testing, and documentation.

Preferred Candidate Profile (Requirements & Qualifications)

- Experience: 6 to 10 years of professional experience in mainframe application development, maintenance, and production support.

- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, IMS, and JCL.
- Hands-on experience with online transaction processing using CICS and data management via VSAM.
- Solid understanding and operational knowledge of JES2 or JES3 environments, along with system monitoring tools like SDSF.
- Experience with debugging utilities (e.g., IBM Debug Tool, Xpediter, or CA-InterTest) and source code control tools (Endevor/Changman).
- Domain Expertise: Financial domain experience, preferably within a large banking institution, is strongly preferred.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work effectively within a collaborative team workplace.
- Employment Eligibility: Strict eligibility for W2 employment is a must.
