Mirai Alpha is looking for a Macro Economist Intern to join our research team and contribute to our macro and research process.

You will work within our research framework to track global macroeconomic developments, analyse economic data and policy actions, and contribute to institutional-quality research reports and market notes. The role involves close collaboration with our Portfolio Management and Quant teams, helping translate macroeconomic developments into structured research inputs for our investment process.

This is a research-intensive role for someone with a strong foundation in macroeconomics, financial markets, and quantitative thinking, and an interest in understanding how macro variables interact with markets.

The Job

1. Conduct deep research on global macroeconomic trends, monetary policy, inflation, interest rates, currencies, growth, and major market themes.
2. Track economic data, central-bank actions, geopolitical developments, and market-moving events.
3. Develop high-quality research reports, macro notes, and thematic analysis for internal and external use.
4. Translate complex economic developments into clear, structured, and concise insights.

Work closely with the Portfolio Management and Quant teams, sharing research and incorporating quantitative perspectives into macro analysis.
6. Identify emerging themes, challenge existing assumptions, and continuously build a strong understanding of global markets.

The Requirements

1. Strong interest in macroeconomics, financial markets, and investing.
2. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
3. Comfortable working with economic datasets and Excel/Google Sheets.
4. Ability to research independently and communicate complex ideas clearly.
5. Curiosity, intellectual rigour, and a strong bias for learning.

Preferred: Students/recent graduates from Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related disciplines.
