Role Description:

This is a full-time, on-site Legal Intern role based in Mumbai. The Legal Intern will support the legal team across a broad range of work areas legal research, contract drafting and review, regulatory tracking, and internal legal reporting while gaining hands-on exposure to legal issues in the technology and AI space.

Work Areas:

- Contracts & Commercial Agreements: Drafting, reviewing, and redlining agreements such as NDAs, vendor/service agreements, licensing agreements, MSAs, SOWs, and employment-related contracts.
- Legal Research: Researching statutes, case law, and regulatory developments relevant to technology, AI, data protection, and corporate law; preparing memos and briefing notes.
- Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: Tracking and monitoring compliance obligations under applicable Indian laws (e.g., Companies Act, IT Act, Consumer Protection Act) and emerging AI/data protection regulations (e.g., DPDP Act, sector-specific AI governance guidelines).
- Case & Dispute Support: Assisting with case tracking, maintaining case files and documentation, coordinating with external counsel where required, and supporting basic litigation/dispute administration under supervision.
- Policy & Governance: Supporting the development, review, and updating of internal policies, SOPs, and procedures to ensure alignment with applicable laws and industry best practices.
- Legal Advisory Support: Providing basic advisory support on day-to-day legal queries from internal teams, under the guidance of senior legal counsel.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Liaising with product, compliance, HR, and business teams to communicate legal risks, obligations, and requirements clearly.

Cases and Compliance Focus

- Supporting management of ongoing legal matters/cases, including documentation,



status tracking, and follow-ups with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitoring regulatory changes and compliance deadlines relevant to technology, AI, and data privacy, and flagging action items to the legal team.
- Assisting in compliance audits, checklists, and record-keeping to ensure the organization meets statutory and contractual obligations.
- Maintaining an organized repository of case files, compliance trackers, and legal correspondence.

Qualifications:

- Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to understand and interpret statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey legal concepts clearly in writing and speech.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a law program (LLB or equivalent); prior internship experience in corporate or technology law is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and research skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Interest in technology, AI, data protection, and regulatory frameworks related to digital transformation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment in Mumbai and maintain high professional and ethical standards.
