Role Summary
Own platform design and test sustenance — test-plan development, platform-level validation, and regression execution across sustenance releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Own stability and reliability testing strategy for the platform, including MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) measurement and reporting.
- Operate and scale the SoC device farm running diverse use-case combinations at high frequency (multiple executions per hour) to surface stability issues.
- Design and inject crash scenarios (stress, fault-injection, resource-exhaustion) to proactively uncover platform stability defects.
- Triage stability failures back to the owning pod with full repro steps and device-farm logs.
- Own test infrastructure and automation for the sustenance program, and mentor the pod's Senior Engineer.
- Report MTBF,
stability and quality metrics to the Program Lead.
Must-Have Skills
- 8–10 years embedded stability/reliability test engineering, including MTBF methodology and SoC device-farm operation.
- SoC device-farm design and operation for high-frequency, multi-use-case execution.
- Crash-scenario / fault-injection test design.
- MTBF measurement and statistical reliability analysis.
- Scripting (Python) for stability test automation.
Positive-to-Have Skills
- Hardware-in-the-loop lab automation (LAVA/Labgrid) for device-farm orchestration.
- CI/CD pipeline ownership for embedded targets.
- Certification or compliance test campaign experience.
