Job Overview:

The Junior QA/QC Microbiologist will be responsible for carrying out routine microbiological testing, sampling, environmental monitoring, documentation, and laboratory activities for raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, stability samples, and cosmetic products. The role will ensure that microbiological testing is conducted accurately and in accordance with approved SOPs, GMP, GLP, safety requirements, and internal quality standards.

:

· Perform microbiological sampling of raw materials, in-process products, finished products, stability samples, vendor samples, R&D; samples, and cosmetic products as per approved SOPs and testing requirements.

· Conduct routine microbiological testing of extract powders, raw materials, tablets, capsules, churnas, liquids, cosmetic products, and other applicable samples.

· Perform total microbial count, bioburden testing, coliform testing, spore count, and other microbiological tests as per established procedures.

· Prepare microbiological media, solutions, reagents, and other materials required for routine testing.

· Carry out routine and random microbiological testing and maintain accurate test records and laboratory documentation.

· Prepare and maintain analytical worksheets, test reports, logbooks, and microbiological records.

· Conduct environmental monitoring of laboratories, cleanrooms, production areas,



and other controlled areas to monitor hygiene and contamination control.

· Support routine fumigation and microbiological hygiene activities for the microbiology laboratory, production areas, and cosmetic manufacturing sections.

· Assist in the preparation and testing of microbiology proficiency testing materials for food and water-related testing schemes, as required.

· Support R&D; and product development activities involving microbial testing and microbial control, when required.

· Maintain proper laboratory housekeeping, safety, and valuable laboratory practices.

· Ensure proper handling, storage, identification, and disposal of microbiological samples, cultures, media, and laboratory waste.

· Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and microbiology work areas in accordance with SOPs and safety requirements.

· Immediately report any out-of-specification results, abnormal observations, contamination incidents, or deviations to the concerned senior/manager.

· Follow all applicable GMP, GLP, SOP, safety, and internal quality requirements.

· Coordinate with QA, QC, Production, R&D;, and other relevant departments for microbiological testing and related activities.

Qualifications:

· B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field.

· Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in microbiology testing, preferably in the Herbal, Ayurvedic, Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical, Food, or Cosmetic manufacturing industry.

· Good knowledge of microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, media preparation, and microbial enumeration techniques.

· Familiarity with GMP, GLP, SOPs, laboratory documentation, and basic quality systems.

· Good analytical, documentation, and record-keeping skills.

· Ability to accurately follow testing procedures and laboratory protocols.

· Good communication and coordination skills.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
