About Us:
For U.K based (our associates), dynamic and growing accounting firm dedicated to providing top-notch services to our clients. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. This role is suited to someone with some prior accountancy experience who is looking to develop further and grow into a broader role, working closely with our team on live client work.

As a Junior Accountant, you will support our accounting team with day-to-day client work, including bookkeeping, MTD VAT return preparation, draft trial balance preparation, and bank reconciliation. You will work across multiple clients using a range of software including IRIS, Xero, QuickFile and Excel. Further training and mentoring will be provided, but we expect you to already have some accountancy experience and to be a self-starter with a keen interest in developing your career in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate Making Tax Digital (MTD) VAT returns for clients.
- Work on comprehensive bookkeeping records for multiple clients.
- Use accounting software including IRIS, Xero, Quick File and Excel to manage client accounts.
- Prepare draft Trial Balances for Limited Companies and Self-Employed clients.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate.
- Collaborate closely with clients and other team members to resolve queries and meet deadlines.
- Maintain client portals and update records regularly.
- Send reminders and follow-ups via email for outstanding client documents or payments.
- Support the team with ad-hoc accounting and admin tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of accountancy experience, ideally within a UK practice environment.
- Experience preparing MTD VAT returns.
- Working knowledge of accounting software such as IRIS, Xero, QuickFile and Excel (sorting, filtering,
VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Ability to prepare draft Trial Balances and complete bank reconciliations.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Must be a self-starter - proactive, motivated, and able to work independently.
- Interest in continuing to build a long-term career in accounting or finance.
