Role Description This is a on-site Jr. Sous Chef – Bread role based at Theobroma’s Central Kitchen in Bengaluru South. The Jr. Sous Chef – Bread will support the bakery operations by preparing, shaping, and baking a variety of breads and related products according to company recipes and quality standards.
Responsibilities include daily mise en place, dough preparation, monitoring fermentation and baking processes, and maintaining consistency in taste, texture, and presentation. The role involves coordinating with senior kitchen leadership,
ensuring hygiene and food safety compliance, managing baking schedules, and assisting in inventory checks for baking ingredients and supplies. The Jr.
Sous Chef – Bread will also help train team members on standard procedures, support new product trials, and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Foundational bread-making and bakery skills, including dough preparation, fermentation control, and baking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and basic kitchen operations in a professional bakery or patisserie.
- Ability to follow recipes and standard operating procedures while maintaining high quality and consistency.
- Solid time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with a collaborative and respectful approach to colleagues.
- Prior experience in a bakery, patisserie, or hotel kitchen is preferred; formal culinary or bakery training is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and peak festive seasons as required.
