About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at Tata Consultancy Services. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing robust backend applications using Java and related technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance microservices and ensure seamless integration with various systems and databases.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps, and cloud-native architectures. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Candidates with 5+ years of experience in Java development, specifically with Java 17, are preferred.



Proficiency in Spring Boot, NoSQL databases such as Redis, Mango, Cassandra, and experience with microservices architecture are essential.

Familiarity with tools like Maven, JUnit, Mockito, Eclipse/STS/RAD IDEs, Git, and RTC is required. Additionally, hands-on experience with Spring Rest Services, Hibernate, Spring JPA, XML/JSON, Tomcat, IBM MQ series/JMS, JNDI, JDBC, SOAP, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Kafka, resilience4j, and GraphQL will be highly advantageous. Optional experience in API Gateway integration (APIGEE), cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and container orchestration is a plus.

Responsibilities

As a Java Backend Developer, your core responsibilities will include designing, developing, and testing application code components in accordance with industry best practices and organizational standards. You will participate in solution design discussions, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with business requirements. Writing comprehensive unit tests using JUnit and automating testing processes with Selenium is expected to maintain high-quality deliverables.

You will be responsible for debugging and resolving defects efficiently to minimize downtime and improve system stability.

Additionally, you will set up and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines,



utilizing DevOps tools for automated build, testing, and release processes. Providing insights and recommendations based on your experience will help optimize application performance and scalability. Active participation in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives is vital to ensure seamless project execution.

Your development efforts should aim for at least 90% API-level test coverage through JUnit, promoting a test-driven development approach.
