Interior Designer – Retail & F&B; Projects

Experience

2–3 years of professional experience in retail showroom and/or F&B; shop interior design.

Job Summary The Interior Designer will be responsible for designing and supporting the execution of retail and F&B; interior projects, ensuring functional, brand-aligned, and visually appealing spaces. The role requires creativity, strong technical skills, and coordination with project teams to deliver designs from concept through site execution.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Concept Development

- Develop interior design concepts, layouts, and mood boards for retail showrooms and F&B; outlets.
- Create space planning and zoning that enhances customer experience, flow, and operational efficiency.
- Interpret brand guidelines and translate them into store and restaurant interiors.

Drawings & Documentation

- Prepare detailed design drawings, including:
- Layout plans
- Elevations and sections
- Furniture, fixture & equipment (FF&E;) details
- Lighting and material specifications
- Coordinate drawings with MEP, signage, and kitchen consultants (for F&B; projects).

Material & Vendor Coordination

- Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and accessories suitable for retail and F&B; environments.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for samples, specifications, and cost estimates.

Site Coordination & Execution Support

- Assist in site supervision to ensure design intent is executed correctly.
- Coordinate with contractors, carpenters,



and fit-out teams to resolve site issues.
- Review shop drawings and mock-ups.

Client & Team Interaction

- Participate in client presentations and design reviews.
- Work closely with senior designers, project managers, and architects.
- Incorporate client feedback and revise designs as required.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architecture.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in retail showroom or F&B; interior design projects.
- Portfolio demonstrating retail and/or restaurant design work.

Skills & Software Proficiency

- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
- Working knowledge of SketchUp / 3D Max / Revit (preferred)
- Basic rendering skills using V-Ray, Lumion, or Enscape (added advantage)
- Good understanding of materials, finishes, and detailing
- Knowledge of retail standards and F&B; operational requirements

Key Competencies

- Solid design and visualization skills
- Attention to detail and good aesthetic sense
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Willingness to visit sites and work with execution teams

Preferred (Optional)

- Experience with international or branded retail / F&B; outlets
- Knowledge of local building codes and fit-out regulations
- Basic understanding of costing and BOQs
