1. Take round of every patient admitted in ICU
2. To manage any emergencies in ICU Hospital.
3. Immediate respond to any emergency code activated in the hospital premises.
4. Attend the consultant round and follow their advice carefully
5. Collect report and inform keep the consultant informed
6. Monitor and guide medical officer on duty and nursing staff
7. Inform recent admission and new event to the concerned consultant and follow their advice

9. Participate in academic activities in ICU
10. Transport of patients on mechanical ventilation
11. Complete a brief admission examination of each patient when appropriate and document clinical findings.
12. Ensure the highest standards of patient care for all patients attending/admitted to the hospital.
13. Attend ward rounds with consulting doctor, as required, and be available to discuss patient treatment plans.
14. Provide a 24-hour medical services within the hospital on an on-call basis permanently.
15. Inform admitting Consultants of changes in medical conditions of patients and of relevant action taken.
16. Follow the instructions of consultants for their specific regime for each individual patient.
17. Perform clinical procedures as requested by consultant.
18. Visit patients as required at the request of the nursing staff.
19. Countersign any drug instructions given by consultants over the telephone and satisfy prescribing requirements throughout the hospital, as requested by nursing staff by checking their validity, safety and need.
20. Visit all in-patients daily and document in clinical notes.
21. To be familiar with all relevant procedures/policies.
22. Liaise closely with nursing staff and other relevant clinical or administrative staff.
23. Ensure that comprehensive handover, with full patient rounds, has taken place at the beginning and end of each shifts.
24. Ensure comprehensive,



accurate and concise medical records are maintained for patients with and appropriate signed and dated legible entry in patients medical record on every attendance upon a patient.
25. Arrange investigations, surgical treatment, medical treatment and discharge as directed by the Registrar and/or consultant to which assigned.
26. Ensure that discharge summaries and other correspondence are completed with minimum delay and that all such correspondence is complete prior to leaving the unit.
27. Participate in compulsory Hospital based training, i.e., Fire, BLS/ACLS.
28. Keep abreast of new developments, skills, technology, and current literature in order to initiate and respond to changes in the work environment, e.g. data analysis, clinical audit, research etc.
29. Under no circumstances should Registrar / Jr. Consultant / Associate Consultants seek consent for operations or procedures on behalf of a consultant. Registrar / Jr. Consultant / Associate Consultants must seek consent for any procedures that they intend to undertake.
30. Registrar / Jr. Consultant / Associate Consultants have no admitting rights to the hospital. All patients admitted must be under the care of a consultant with admitting rights to the hospital.
31. To remain on the hospital premises whilst on duty. In the event of a Registrar / Jr. Consultant / Associate Consultants not attending for duty, the previous Registrar / Jr. Consultant / Associate Consultants must remain until a reliever is found ensuring continuous cover.
32. To remain on the hospital premises while on duty. You should not leave duty place unless proper handover not given to reliever.
33. Any other work assigned by the management from time to time.
