Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and appeal matters.
- Provide practical, commercially focused HR advice to senior operational leaders, balancing business needs with fair, consistent and compliant people practices.
- Coach and support managers to build confidence in handling people matters and improving day-to-day management capability.
- Support Organisational change, restructuring and consultation processes, ensuring clear communication, appropriate documentation and effective risk management.
- Identify, assess and mitigate employment risks while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies and internal procedures.
- Keep HR policies, procedures and templates up to date, ensuring they remain legally compliant, operationally relevant and clearly understood by managers and employees.
- Use HR data, trends and management information to support decision-making, identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with managers on recruitment activity, including understanding resourcing requirements, supporting selection processes and helping to deliver a positive candidate experience.
- Work closely with outsourced payroll providers to maintain accurate employee data, support timely payroll processing and resolve payroll queries efficiently.
- Contribute to the development of the wider Employee Relations function by improving processes, sharing best practice and supporting consistent standards across the business.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Adviser or HR Manager role.
- Strong employee relations knowledge, with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive people matters.
- Good working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice, with the judgement to know when to escalate risk.
- Experience supporting operational, logistics, warehousing or other fast-paced environments would be advantageous.
- Commercially aware, pragmatic and confident working with managers to find practical solutions.
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable using HR data and systems to support accurate records, reporting and decision-making.
- Relevant HR qualification, such as CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, or able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience.
- Flexible and willing to travel to other business locations when required.
What We Offer:
- A genuine opportunity to shape the HR support model for a growing Chennai operation.
- Exposure to a varied employee relations workload, Organisational change activity and operational leadership teams.
- The chance to work in a commercially focused environment where HR has a clear role in supporting business performance.
This is a hands-on HR Manager role for someone who enjoys working close to the business, providing practical employee relations support and helping managers make confident people decisions. The successful candidate will play an important part in supporting the continued growth of the Chennai operation, while contributing to a consistent, commercially focused HR approach across GB Global.
