Role & responsibilities

Lead the Vendor Development function for the Material Handling Equipment business by developing a robust supplier network, driving localization, cost optimization, supplier quality improvement, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of materials and components aligned with global engineering and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute vendor development and supplier management strategies.
- Identify, evaluate, audit, and onboard recent suppliers for fabrication, machining, sheet metal, hydraulics, electricals, and bought-out components.
- Drive localization and value engineering initiatives to reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Collaborate with Engineering, R&D;, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement teams to support new product development and sourcing requirements.
- Establish supplier performance metrics covering quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Lead supplier audits, capability assessments, and supplier development programs.




- Manage strategic supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
- Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure business continuity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supplier base.
- Present supplier performance reviews and sourcing strategies to the Global CTO.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA/Supply Chain Management qualification preferred.

Experience

- 15+ years of experience in Vendor Development, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement,

or Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing vendor development teams.
- Experience in Material Handling Equipment, Industrial Equipment, Heavy

Engineering, Automation, or Manufacturing industries.
