Role Summary The Head – Supply Chain will be responsible for leading the organization's end-to-end supply chain function, with primary ownership of Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Global Purchasing, Import & Export (EXIM), Logistics, Inventory Planning, Vendor Development, and Supply Chain Excellence.

The role requires developing robust domestic and international sourcing strategies, ensuring uninterrupted material availability for manufacturing operations, optimizing procurement costs, strengthening supplier relationships, and driving operational efficiency across the entire supply chain. The incumbent will work closely with Production, Planning, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and Sales to build an agile, resilient, and cost-effective supply chain new projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Procurement & Sourcing

- Develop and implement the organization's procurement strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead sourcing of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, capital equipment, consumables, and indirect procurement.
- Manage domestic and international purchasing activities.
- Develop category management and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Drive supplier negotiations to achieve the best commercial terms.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and alternate sourcing.
- Ensure procurement policies and governance are effectively implemented.

2. Global Procurement & Import Management

- Lead international sourcing across global markets.
- Manage complete import procurement lifecycle.
- Oversee international supplier negotiations and contracts.




- Handle import documentation, customs clearance, freight coordination, and statutory compliance.
- Monitor global commodity pricing, exchange rate fluctuations, and geopolitical risks.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, DGFT, Customs, FTAs, and applicable trade laws.
- Develop contingency sourcing plans for critical materials.

3. Export (EXIM) & Trade Compliance Indian and Egypt

- Lead Export-Import (EXIM) operations.
- Ensure compliance with all import-export regulations and documentation.
- Coordinate with customs agents, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and CHA.
- Manage duty optimization, EPCG, Advance Authorization, SEZ/EOU benefits (where applicable).
- Ensure timely shipment execution and documentation accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with international trade policies.

4. Vendor Development & Supplier Relationship Management

- Build and develop a strong domestic and global supplier network.
- Identify and onboard strategic suppliers.
- Conduct supplier capability assessments and audits.
- Drive supplier quality improvement initiatives.
- Establish vendor performance scorecards based on:

- 5. Supply Chain Planning

- Align procurement with production planning and sales forecasts.

- Manage safety stock and replenishment models.

6. Inventory Management

- Optimize inventory across plants and warehouses.
- Improve inventory turnover.
- Reduce slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Ensure periodic stock verification and reconciliation.
- Monitor inventory KPIs and working capital utilization.

- Lead inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Optimize transportation costs and delivery performance.
- Manage freight contracts and logistics service providers.
- Ensure timely movement of imported materials.

- Monitor transportation performance and service levels.

8. Cost Optimization & Operational Excellence

- Identify procurement savings opportunities.
- Drive annual cost reduction initiatives.
- Improve supply chain productivity.
- Reduce procurement cycle time.
- Optimize logistics costs.
- Eliminate supply chain bottlenecks.
- Implement Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Develop digital procurement and automation initiatives.

9. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with all functions Support new product development through timely sourcing.
- Participate in S&OP; (Sales & Operations Planning).

10. Risk Management & Business Continuity

- Identify supply chain risks.
- Develop alternate supplier strategies.
- Ensure continuity of supply during disruptions.
- Manage supplier risk assessments.
- Build resilient global supply networks.

11. Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor the Procurement, Logistics, Stores, Planning, and EXIM teams.
- Build a high-performance and accountable culture.

12. Systems & Digital Supply Chain

- Drive ERP-based procurement processes.
- Ensure effective use of SAP- B1 , Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent ERP systems.
- Develop dashboards and MIS reports.
- Utilize data analytics for procurement and supply chain decisions.
- Improve digital visibility across the supply chain.

Key Requirements:

- Experience: 12–18 years in supply chain/procurement in manufacturing
- Strong exposure to imports, international sourcing, and global vendors
- Proven track record in cost reduction and vendor negotiations
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics
- Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
