Key Responsibilities

Statutory Clearances & Government Approvals • Own the roadmap of all statutory approvals required at each stage of the project exploration, mining lease execution, mining plan approval, environmental clearance (EC), forest clearance (FC), Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO), water and power approvals, and any other permissions required.

- Coordinate with consultants, EIA agencies, and technical teams to prepare and submit applications on time.

- Anticipate regulatory changes, litigation risks, and PIL exposure; put in place preventive strategies.

Legal

Drafting & Correspondence • Draft and vet all legal correspondence with government departments — representations, replies to show cause notices, applications, undertakings, and clarifications — with clarity, accuracy, and appropriate legal framing.
- Review and negotiate contracts related to land, transportation, drilling, EPC, and consultancy engagements for the project.
- Liaise with external legal counsel for court matters, tribunal proceedings (NGT, High Court, Supreme Court where relevant), and specialist opinions.
- Ensure that all legal and statutory documentation is meticulously maintained and audit-ready. Liaison with Government Authorities • Build and maintain robust working relationships with authorities of the Directorate of Mines & Geology, Department of Mines, Forest Department, Revenue Department, Pollution Control Board, IBM,



DGMS, Panchayati Raj, District Administration, and Police at Jaipur, Karauli, and Hindaun.
- Represent the Company in meetings, public hearings, and inspections.
- Facilitate site visits by officials and ensure smooth conduct of statutory inspections.
- Track all pending files and applications at various government offices and pursue them to closure. Land Matters • Drive the identification, acquisition, and documentation of land — both government and private — required for the block, buffer zone, and downstream facilities (processing plant, concentrator, pellet plant).
- Coordinate with the Revenue Department for revenue maps, jamabandi records, mutation, land rates, and land acquisition procedures.
- Handle all legal aspects of land acquisition, compensation, and rehabilitation & resettlement (R&R;) in compliance with applicable laws.

Local

Liaison & Community Engagement • Lead and supervise the on-ground local liaison team based at Hindaun (including the Executive – Local Liaison already engaged for the Khora block).
- Build cordial relationships with panchayat leaders, village-level stakeholders, and local community influencers to ensure smooth conduct of exploration, drilling, land activities, and future mining operations.




- Anticipate and defuse potential community-level friction; act as the Company's spokesperson on the ground when required.

Project

Leadership & Management • Act as a core member of the project leadership team, participating in strategic decisions on the exploration and mining roadmap.
- Prepare and present periodic status reports to the Managing Director and Board on clearances, litigation risk, land status, and community affairs.
- Manage the budget for legal, liaison, and community expenses; ensure compliance and transparency.
- Build, mentor, and lead a small team of executives, consultants, and legal support staff.

Desired Profile

Education • Some background in law from a recognised institution is essential; additional qualification in mining law, environmental law, or business administration is a strong plus.
- A first degree in any discipline (Science, Commerce, or Engineering) is preferred as an added background.

Experience • Minimum 12–15 years of experience in legal, liaison, or external-affairs leadership roles, preferably in the mining, metals, cement, power, or infrastructure sectors.

- Proven track record of securing statutory clearances such as EC, FC, mining lease execution, and CTE/CTO for large industrial or mining projects.
- Demonstrated experience of liaison with Rajasthan state government departments (Mines, Forest, Revenue, PCB, District Administration) will be a significant advantage.
- Prior experience of handling greenfield mining or exploration projects is highly desirable.
