nMAYU is looking for a talented freelance Handbags & Lifestyle Accessories Designer to collaborate on the design and development of our upcoming collection, launching in early September .

nOur new collection will explore the intersection of luxury craftsmanship and material innovation, featuring fish leather alongside other next-generation sustainable leather alternatives. We are looking for a designer who can create timeless, commercially viable products while embracing the unique characteristics of innovative materials.

nWhat you will do:

- Design a capsule collection of handbags and lifestyle accessories
n
- Develop mood boards, concept directions, colour palettes, and material combinations
n
- Create detailed design sketches and technical drawings
n
- Prepare tech packs with construction details, dimensions, hardware specifications, and finishing notes
n
- Collaborate closely with our founder and manufacturing partners during product development
n
- Refine designs based on prototyping and material constraints
n
- Help build a cohesive collection aligned with MAYU's premium brand vision
n

nWe are looking for someone who has:

n

n
- Experience designing handbags, leather goods, or lifestyle accessories
n




- A robust portfolio demonstrating contemporary, premium product design
n
- Knowledge of bag construction, materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes
n
- Experience preparing production-ready tech packs
n
- Strong understanding of luxury aesthetics, functionality, and user experience
n
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently within tight timelines
n

nBonus if you have experience with:

- Fish leather, bio-based materials, vegan leather, or other sustainable materials
n
- Luxury fashion or accessories brands
n
- Working directly with artisans or manufacturers
n
- Product development from concept to production
