1. General Manager – Operations

1. Job Purpose
To lead and manage the overall operations of the paper printing manufacturing unit, ensuring optimum productivity, operational efficiency, cost control, quality compliance, and timely delivery of products. The incumbent will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving manufacturing processes, managing cross-functional teams, and achieving organizational goals.
1. Key Roles & Responsibilities
A. Production & Manufacturing Management Develop and execute production plans in line with business requirements.
Ensure achievement of production targets within defined timelines.
Monitor printing, finishing, and related manufacturing processes.
Optimize machine utilization, manpower, and raw material consumption.
Minimize production losses, rejection, and wastage.
Ensure efficient utilization of production resources.
B. Overall Operations Management
Manage day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, PPC, Stores, and Dispatch departments.
Establish and implement operational SOPs and best practices.
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
Ensure smooth coordination between all functional departments.
C. Printing Process Management
Ensure efficient operation of printing and finishing equipment.
Monitor printing quality, color consistency, registration, and finishing standards.
Optimize paper, ink, coating, and other consumable usage.
Improve production efficiency and reduce machine downtime.
Drive improvements in printing processes and product quality.
D. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure adherence to defined quality standards and customer specifications.
Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
Coordinate with the Quality Department for root-cause analysis.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
E. Cost Control & Productivity Improvement
Develop strategies to reduce manufacturing and operational costs.
Monitor paper wastage, ink consumption, and material losses.
Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
F. Maintenance & Plant Infrastructure
Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure machine availability.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
Minimize machine breakdowns and production downtime.
Ensure availability of critical spare parts.
Support initiatives for energy efficiency and infrastructure improvement.
G. Manpower & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and motivate the operations team.
Define departmental goals, responsibilities, and performance standards.
Monitor manpower productivity and workforce utilization.
Identify training and development requirements.
Ensure discipline and a positive work culture.
H. Production Planning & Delivery
Coordinate with PPC and Sales to ensure timely order execution.
Ensure production schedules align with customer delivery commitments.
Resolve production bottlenecks and prioritize critical orders.
Monitor order status and ensure timely dispatch.
Improve production planning and inventory coordination.
I. MIS & Management Reporting
Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Monitor production, productivity, wastage, downtime, and quality KPIs.
Present operational performance reports to top management.
Develop action plans for performance improvement.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of operational data.
J. Continuous Improvement & Business Growth
Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the plant.
Evaluate new technologies and manufacturing techniques.
Improve production capacity and operational scalability.
Support capital expenditure planning and equipment selection.
Contribute to strategic business planning and growth initiatives.

Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Printing Technology, or Chemical Engineering. MBA in Operations / Production Management will be an added advantage.
Diploma or degree in Printing Technology will be preferred.
1. Professional Experience
15–20 years of relevant experience in the printing, paper converting, packaging, or allied manufacturing industry. Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in a senior operations, plant management, or manufacturing leadership role.
Proven experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations.
Experience in production planning, cost control, quality management, and process improvement.
Experience in managing cross-functional teams and plant-level operations.
1. Technical Skills
Robust knowledge of paper printing and finishing processes. Knowledge of offset, flexographic, rotogravure, or digital printing, as applicable.
Understanding of printing machinery, maintenance, and production processes.
Knowledge of ERP systems and production MIS.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
Knowledge of quality management systems and safety standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

1. Authority & Decision-Making
The General Manager – Operations shall have the authority to: Allocate manpower and operational resources.
Monitor and control day-to-day plant operations.
Recommend operational improvements and capital expenditure.
Set departmental performance targets in consultation with management.
Take corrective actions to resolve operational issues.
Recommend recruitment, training, and performance-related actions.
All financial and administrative decisions shall be subject to company policies and management approval.
1. Working Conditions
Full-time position based at the manufacturing plant Located in Kundli Sonipat Haryana. Regular interaction with production teams, management, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Responsible for maintaining a safe, productive, and efficient working environment.
Pay: ₹2,400,000.00 - ₹3,600,000.00 per year
