We are looking for a hands-on Furniture CAD/CAM & CNC Engineer who can help us take our existing furniture designs and convert them into accurate, repeatable, production-ready products.

This is not a desk-only CAD job.

You will work closely with our team, furniture craftsmen and production floor. You will take physical furniture, understand how it is constructed, create the detailed digital model and drawings, prepare CNC files and then help manufacture and validate the first physical prototype.

The ideal person enjoys both working on a computer and working with machines and furniture on the factory floor.

What You Will Do

- Study and measure existing DOMA furniture and furniture prototypes.
- Understand how sofa frames, beds, tables and other furniture are constructed.
- Create accurate 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Break furniture into individual components and assemblies.
- Prepare dimensions, joinery details, drilling locations and other manufacturing specifications.
- Prepare BOMs, cut lists and component drawings.
- Identify which components can be manufactured using CNC.
- Create CAM programs, nesting layouts and CNC-ready files.
- Set up and operate CNC routers for prototype and production work.
- Select appropriate tools and cutting parameters.
- Set machine zero, tools and work coordinates.
- Run first-piece prototypes and inspect the finished components.
- Work with carpenters to assemble and test the first frames.
- Identify issues between the drawing and the physical product and make necessary corrections.
- Maintain drawing and CNC-program revisions.
- Help develop standardised manufacturing methods for DOMA products.
- Work with production to improve accuracy, reduce material wastage and reduce rework.
- Eventually help build a complete digital manufacturing package for each DOMA product.

The Kind of Person We Are Looking For You should be able to look at a piece of furniture and understand how it was made — not just how it looks.





You should be comfortable moving between:

CAD → CAM → CNC → Workshop → Prototype → CAD

You don't need to know everything on day one. What matters most is that you have a strong understanding of furniture manufacturing and are willing to solve problems practically.

Required Skills

- 2+ years of relevant experience in furniture manufacturing, CAD/CAM or CNC.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Experience with 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, SketchUp or similar.
- Practical CNC router experience.
- Knowledge of CAM and nesting.
- Understanding of CNC toolpaths and G-code.
- Good understanding of plywood, MDF, HDHMR, solid wood and other furniture materials.
- Understanding of furniture joinery and construction.
- Ability to read and create technical manufacturing drawings.
- Ability to troubleshoot CNC and manufacturing issues.
