Job Summary

We are looking for a Full Stack with a strong backend focus to design and build scalable systems for a high-traffic consumer streaming platform.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in backend engineering, APIs, distributed systems, databases, cloud technologies, and system design, along with solid frontend development skills.

This role will contribute to features supporting live and on-demand content, DVR, subscriptions, profiles, search, content discovery, personalization, and multi-device experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and own scalable backend services and APIs supporting customer-facing products.
- Lead technical implementation of complex features from design through production deployment.
- Build highly available and reliable services capable of supporting large-scale consumer traffic.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Develop efficient data models and queries using relational and NoSQL databases.
- Work on backend capabilities supporting streaming, content metadata, subscriptions, user accounts, DVR, search, and recommendations.
- Contribute to frontend development using modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React or similar technologies.
- Design systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Participate in technical architecture and system-design discussions.
- Perform code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis.




- Work closely with Product, QA, Data Science, ML, and Infrastructure teams.
- Develop automated tests and maintain high-quality production code.
- Participate in CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to technical decision-making.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- 5-10 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong backend development experience with one or more of: Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, Node.js

- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, databases, caching, and system design.
- Strong experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with React or a comparable frontend framework.
- Experience building and operating production applications at scale.

- Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of Git, CI/CD, testing, and deployment practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of HLS, MPEG-DASH, fMP4, CMAF, or video delivery systems.
- Experience with media platforms or connected-device applications.
- Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming platforms.
- Kubernetes/Docker experience.
- Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency services.
- Experience with search, recommendation, personalization, or content discovery systems.
- Solid system-design and technical leadership experience.
