C2H | Role : Firewall Migration Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Network Security Migration Engineer (NCE) who specializes in Cisco ASA ASA/FTD migrations. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in firewall configuration, troubleshooting, and cutover support, along with deep knowledge of Cisco security technologies.

This role involves performing end-to-end firewall migrations, resolving issues during and after migration, and ensuring minimal downtime for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Activities

- Perform hands-on migration of Cisco ASA firewalls to ASA or Firepower Threat Defense (FTD).
- Translate security policies, ACLs, NAT rules, and VPN configurations between ASA and FTD.
- Configure, deploy, and integrate Cisco FTD devices into existing network setups.
- Conduct post-migration validation to ensure accurate connectivity, policy enforcement, and access controls.

Troubleshooting & Post-Migration Support

- Provide first-line support for migration-related issues such as:

- Connectivity failures

- Security policy mismatches
- VPN issues (S2S & Remote Access)
- Resolve issues during cutover windows to minimize downtime.




- Perform in-depth post-migration optimization for performance and security.

Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare detailed migration documentation, configuration changes, and issue logs.
- Submit post-migration reports with system status, troubleshooting actions, and improvement recommendations.

Skills & Experience (Mandatory) 3+ years hands-on experience with:

- Cisco ASA
- Cisco Firepower / FTD
- ASA FTD migration

Strong knowledge in:
- ACLs, NAT, VPNs (IPsec / S2S / RA)
- Firewall policies & rule base
- Network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)

Expertise in firewall troubleshooting, VPN debugging, and cutover support. Minimum 5 years of experience in firewall/security domain projects.

Preferred Qualifications

- Cisco certifications: CCNP Security / CCNA Security / Equivalent
- Experience handling customer calls, escalations, and cross-team coordination.

Soft Skills

- Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication (client-facing)
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Ability to perform under pressure (especially during cutovers)
