1. Role Overview

UNBLOC is looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant to join as Finance Manager, responsible for financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and business partnering across the organisation. This role suits an experienced finance professional with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally including time spent at a Big 4 accounting firm, now looking to apply that rigour in a fast-growing, operating business setting.

As UN:BLOC is at a growth stage, this role sits closer to the business than a typical large-company finance function- the Manager is expected to personally handle payroll and statutory compliance, and to work directly with the founders on investor-facing financial matters, rather than delegating these to separate specialist teams.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Prepare and review MIS reports, budgets, and variance analyses for leadership review.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS), statutory requirements, and internal financial controls.
- Coordinate and manage statutory, tax, and internal audits, liaising directly with auditors and regulators.
- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS, and income tax filings, in coordination with external consultants.
- Manage cash flow planning, working capital, and treasury operations.
- Partner with business and department heads to provide financial insight that supports operational and strategic decisions.
- Strengthen and document internal financial controls and processes as the organisation scales.
- Support fundraising, investor reporting, and due-diligence processes as required.




- Supervise and mentor junior members of the finance team.
- Own end-to-end salary processing each month, including CTC structuring and breakups, variable pay computation, full & final settlements, and coordination with any payroll vendor or HRIS in use.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory payroll requirements — PF, ESI (where applicable), gratuity, professional tax, labour welfare fund, and TDS on salaries — including timely returns, remittances, and audit-readiness of records.
- Act as a key point of contact for investor relations: prepare investor MIS and board decks, respond to investor data requests, support cap table maintenance, and coordinate financial and legal due diligence during fundraising rounds.

3. Qualifications & Experience

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)- mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, or audit.
- Experience at a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG) is preferred, though not mandatory for candidates with strong equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in statutory audit, financial reporting, or assurance functions is an added advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, Companies Act provisions, and Indian direct and indirect tax regulations.
- Prior exposure to a startup, healthcare, or quick-scaling business environment is an added advantage.

4. Skills & Competencies

- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail, with sound judgement on financial and compliance matters.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, SAP, or similar).
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet reporting deadlines.
- High integrity and ownership, given the sensitivity of the role.
