Seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee production and packaging operations. The manufacturing plant Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of production workers, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly, and meeting production targets while maintaining high quality standards and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start of the Day Activities: Starting of plant at the start of the day before workers begin work and briefing the team regarding strict boundaries, targets and limitations as per the days schedule.
- Factory Discipline and SOP: Follow SOPs and work instructions strictly. Supervision of respective division heads to ensure smooth work process. Responsible for following policies, work instructions and SOP’s.
- Floor Management: Coordinating day-to-day operations and allocating manpower across the production line.
- Quality & Safety: Enforcing strict quality control and ensuring staff strictly comply with workplace safety regulations.
- Administration: Tracking raw materials, logging shift reports, and monitoring workflow bottlenecks.
- Tracking Incoming Goods: Coordinate regarding availability of raw materials, packing materials and other miscellaneous materials.
- Stock Management: Ensure proper storage and FIFO practices for raw materials and finished goods. Control wastage, spillage, and pilferage of materials.
- Tracking Finished Goods Dispatch: Logging of proper data and ensuring timely updation of stocks in both physical and digital stock registers.
- Team Leadership: Training new hires, mentoring floor workers, and appraising shift performance.
- End of Day Activities:
Shutdown of plant after completion of all the regular End of Day (EoD) activities. EoD reporting to Head Office and maintaining closing stock of all factory goods after end of work.
- Team Coordination: Coordinating Machine Operator, Quality-in-Charge & Mixing Operator along with other workers by monitoring machine performance and minimizing downtime.
- Factory Maintenance & Cleanliness Supervision: Maintain housekeeping and protected working conditions for the entire production team.
- Dispatch of Goods: Maintain timely dispatch of goods in accordance with the Dispatch Order from Head Office and coordination of the same with the whole team.
- Transportation Coordination: Coordinate with Transport Company/transporter and Head Office throughout the transit time of incoming as well as outgoing goods until the delivery of the goods at the destination.
- Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Time Management & Scheduling: Deliver products on time according to the production schedule. Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems,
policies, and procedures.
- Data Recording and Document Filing: Record process data in logbooks and batch records. Maintain daily production reports, shift logs, and downtime records. Report production performance, quality issues, and manpower status.
- Manpower Management: Allocate work to operators, helpers, and shift staff. Supervise shifts and maintain discipline on the shop floor. Monitor attendance, train workers, improve productivity, and follow Company SOP and performance of workers. Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, including assigning tasks, providing training, and monitoring performance.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with plant safety rules and statutory requirements. Enforce use of PPE and safe working practices. Support audits and inspections by internal or external agencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in manufacturing factories.
- Familiarity with FMCG and Tobacco manufacturing plants.
- Bachelors & above.
- Physically fit to supervise and manage the factory for full duration of factory hours.
