Role Summary
We are looking for a responsible and hands-on Facility Maintenance Engineer to manage the day-to-day maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and smooth functioning of our office premises and facilities. The candidate will coordinate with internal teams, housekeeping/security staff, vendors, and external service providers to ensure the workplace is safe, functional, and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day maintenance of office infrastructure, facilities, and common areas.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Monitor electrical, plumbing, HVAC/AC, lighting, carpentry, civil, and other facility-related requirements.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, AMC contracts, service reports, and equipment.
- Schedule and monitor preventive maintenance for critical equipment and systems.
- Ensure adequate availability of essential facility supplies and consumables.
- Conduct regular inspections of the office premises and identify maintenance issues.
- Support workplace safety, emergency preparedness, fire-safety checks, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Coordinate office repairs, shifting, seating arrangements, and minor renovation activities.
- Verify vendor work completion and assist with invoice verification.
- Maintain facility-related documentation and reports.
- Handle emergency maintenance situations and coordinate with appropriate vendors/teams.
- Ensure the office environment remains clean, safe, comfortable, and operational.
Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have:
- Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Administration, or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in office facility maintenance, commercial building maintenance, corporate administration, or a similar role.
- Practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, civil, and general building maintenance.
- Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors.
- Positive troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple maintenance requests and prioritize urgent issues.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety and fire-safety practices.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Basic computer skills, particularly MS Excel, Word, email, and maintenance tracking systems.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of facility-related issues.
- Hands-on approach with good attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing office facilities, corporate buildings, or commercial properties.
- Knowledge of AMC and vendor management.
- Exposure to facility audits and compliance documentation.
- Knowledge of fire alarm, fire extinguisher, CCTV, access control, UPS, DG, and other building systems.
- Basic budgeting and purchase coordination experience.
- Ability to supervise housekeeping, security, technicians, and other support staff.
