Job Purpose To operate and monitor the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), including Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and Multi-Effect Evaporator (MEE) systems, and ensure effective treatment and safe handling of industrial effluent in accordance with company procedures and applicable environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate and monitor the ETP, ZLD and MEE systems for smooth and efficient operation.
2. Monitor wastewater treatment processes and ensure that required operating parameters are maintained.
3. Monitor parameters such as pH, COD, BOD, TSS, MLSS, flow, chemical dosing and sludge levels.
4. Operate and monitor Multi-Effect Evaporator (MEE) systems, including operating parameters, feed flow, evaporation performance and condensate quality.
5. Monitor and support Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) operations to minimize or eliminate liquid effluent discharge as per the plant's designed system.
6. Carry out appropriate chemical dosing and monitor treatment efficiency.
7. Monitor pumps, blowers, agitators, aeration systems, clarifiers, filters, evaporators and associated equipment.
8. Collect ETP/MEE samples and coordinate with the QC/Environment team for required analysis.
9. Maintain ETP, ZLD and MEE logbooks, operating records, chemical consumption records and daily reports.
10. Monitor sludge generation, dewatering, handling and disposal as per the prescribed procedure.
11. Identify process abnormalities,



equipment problems and deviations and immediately report them to the concerned senior.
12. Coordinate with the Maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance of ETP/MEE equipment.
13. Ensure safe handling, storage and use of treatment chemicals and compliance with required PPE and safety procedures.
14. Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in the ETP/ZLD area.
15. Support environmental monitoring, statutory documentation, inspections and regulatory audits.
16. Assist during visits by environmental/regulatory authorities and provide required operational records.
17. Monitor water recovery, evaporation performance and process efficiency and report any abnormal variations.
18. Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve treatment efficiency and optimize chemical, energy and water consumption.

Required Technical Skills

- Practical knowledge of ETP operation and wastewater treatment
- Knowledge of Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems
- Knowledge of Multi-Effect Evaporator (MEE) operation
- Understanding of pH, COD, BOD, TSS and MLSS
- Knowledge of chemical dosing and sludge management
- Basic understanding of pumps, blowers, filters, clarifiers and evaporator systems
- Ability to maintain ETP/ZLD/MEE operating records
- Knowledge of industrial safety and chemical handling
- Basic MS Excel and documentation skills
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving ability

Preferred Candidate Profile

- B.Sc. / Diploma in Chemical, Environmental or related discipline
- Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical or specialty chemical manufacturing will be preferred
- Hands-on experience in ETP + ZLD + MEE operations will be an advantage
- Willingness to work in a factory environment and shifts, if required
- Good safety awareness, discipline and communication skills
