The Opportunity:
Job Title: Engineer II, Business Intelligence
Experience: 3 - 6 Years
Job Location: Hyderabad (Hybrid)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Intelligence Engineer II to join our Business Intelligence team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, Azure Data Services, and data engineering concepts, along with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders, understand business requirements, and deliver high-quality reporting solutions. This role will also support production issue resolution, data validation, report optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives while serving as a technical mentor to junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to gather and translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.
Develop, test, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve reporting pipelines and data integration processes.
Build and optimize ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, and related technologies.
Automate data collection, transformation, validation, and distribution processes to improve operational efficiency.
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
to ensure report accuracy and quality.
Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
Develop and maintain strategic reports utilizing data from multiple systems, databases, and platforms.
Complete code reviews and peer reviews to ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
Publish and maintain reporting solutions in accordance with organizational governance and publishing guidelines.
Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and self-service reporting capabilities.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior BI engineers and analysts.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, estimation, and retrospectives.
Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines effectively to stakeholders.
Required Skills:
Strong experience in Power BI report development, including advanced DAX and semantic model design.
Proficiency in SQL development with experience writing complex and optimized queries.
Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Platform services.
Knowledge of data modeling principles, dimensional modeling, and data warehouse design.
Experience with Python, Spark SQL, or similar technologies for data processing and automation.
Strong understanding of ETL design patterns and best practices.
Practical knowledge of SDLC methodologies, Agile development practices, and DevOps concepts.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Microsoft Azure Certifications related to Data Engineering, Analytics, or Power Platform.
Experience with API development, integration, and data consumption.
Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management and healthcare analytics.
Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD practices.
Familiarity with Visual Studio Code and PowerShell scripting.
Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques for large-scale datasets.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to business audiences.
Required Experience:
2+ years of experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards in an enterprise environment.
2+ years of experience with relational databases and advanced T-SQL development.
2+ years of experience working with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or equivalent cloud data technologies.
2+ years of experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT solutions.
Experience building scalable semantic models and optimized reporting solutions.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving production reporting and data issues.
Experience conducting data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.
Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management experience preferred.
