Job Specifications:

Desired Educational Background

- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Social Work, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree in human resources or Employee Relations is preferred.
- Certification in Labor laws, compliance regulations, ER and IR is preferred

Desired Experience

- 1-3 years of experience in ER.
- Working experience in manufacturing organization (Plant Location).
- Experience in electronic manufacturing or related industries is preferred.
- Experience in green field assignments or setting up of processes, systems, policies and implementation of rollouts is an added advantage
- Experience of working with a unionized workforce is preferred

Desired Certifications

- Additional certifications in Labour Laws, Compliance, HR Systems, Employee Relations, and POSH will be considered an added advantage.

: Shift ER Role Purpose: Shit ER is a pivotal individual contributor responsible for fostering a harmonious, compliant, and high-performing workplace by strengthening relationships between employees, contractors, leadership, and the organization. Operating in a fast-paced, precision-driven electronics manufacturing environment, this role closely partners with cross- functional departments to drive employee engagement, grievance resolution, workforce discipline, and industrial harmony.

Operating at the intersection of business continuity and employee experience, ER ensures a fair, compliant and inclusive workplace by strengthening trust across the shop floor. The role champions a positive work culture through proactive employee connect initiatives, conflict resolution, welfare interventions, grievance management, and stakeholder collaboration. By fostering robust employee relationships and promoting compliance, workplace safety, and continuous improvement, ER plays a critical role in maintaining a reliable, engaged, and productive workforce that supports operational excellence and sustainable business growth.

Important Considerations:

1. This role is based at the plant (factory). It follows a six-day workweek and will be a 100% work from office role.
2. As the plant operates 24X7, flexibility to work in A, B and C shifts on a daily basis is required
3. Prior experience of managing plant / shop floor workforce is preferred
4. Ability to communicate in English and Tamil is essential

Contribution areas- Key Responsibilities:

Culture and Engagement:

- Instill a values-driven, high-ownership culture. Create and drive programs that amplify the right intent and right behavior
- Craft engagement programs that connect head, heart and hands – whether on the shop floor or in the control room
- Organize participative employee platforms and communication vehicles that foster transparency, teamwork, and empowerment
- Act as a coach for the supervisory and managerial population to ensure people are lead with the right value system

Employee Relations and Shopfloor presence:

- Build a key influencing presence among the shopfloor workers, supervisors, and representatives from different committees.




- Proactively flag any possible future IR issues early and work on proactive measures to fix them and maintain a harmonious climate
- Ensure high shop floor visibility and provide daily ER support to Operations Leaders
- Ensure complete compliance with labor laws, safety regulations and Tata Code of Conduct.

Compliance and Statutory Readiness

- Support in the implementation of all labor law requirements (Factories act, CLRA, ESI, PF etc.)
- Prepare the necessary data, metrics and insights for client audits and represent the organization with the auditors
- Design and conduct vendor audits, ad-hoc and planned inspections related to labor compliance, employee wellbeing as well as employee experience on all facilities provided (Like Canteen, transport, OHS, creche)
- Be in an anytime audit ready state by Creating and maintaining up to date all statutory registers, notices and reports

HR Operations

- Track regular absenteeism, attrition, and engagement trends to generate real-time insights and deploy proactive interventions
- Provide manpower planning support in alignment with planned incoming volumes
- Support the roll-out of different HRMs systems for biometric attendance management, payroll integration, policies administration, manpower reports and daily dashboards
- Create, own and maintain cognitive dashboards for real-time insights and tracking of trends proactively
- Administer employee benefits programs and change management initiatives and provide feedback from the ground for continual improvement of these programs

Change Management

- Design and execute structured change interventions – awareness campaigns, townhalls, pulse checks and feedback loops to reduce resistance and build readiness
- Partner with leadership to communicate change clearly and consistently ensuring psychological safety and clarity to the workforce
- Support mindset shifts among shopfloor and supervisory teams to embrace digital tools, lean practices, and performance ownership
- Role-model resilience, adaptability, and TATA values during transitions – setting the tone for others.

External Interfaces

- Recruitment Agencies: Collaborate with recruitment agencies to attract and source qualified candidates for open positions.
- Government Agencies: Liaise with government agencies regarding employment law compliance audits or investigations.
- Clients: Prepare, review and present key talent metrics and insights with the clients during client visits and audits
- Vendors: Continually inspect, provide feedback and hold vendors accountable for providing services that meet the agreed standards

Internal Interface

- HR Team: Collaborate with the HR Team to ensure consistency in HR Policies and Procedures across the organization.
- Business Unit Leadership: Build strong relationships with business unit leaders, providing strategic HR guidance, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Department Managers: Partner with department managers on talent management initiatives, performance management processes, and employee relations issues.
- Finance Department: Collaborate with finance on budgeting and cost implications of HR initiatives (e.g., employee compensation, training programs).
- Legal Department: Consult with the legal department on complex HR matters to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
