Job Summary: Specify, design, implement and test automotive grade embedded software applications.
Job Details: SW engineer involves in
- Developing and implementing embedded software solutions for various applications as per client needs.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, to define software requirements and specifications.
- Conducting feasibility studies and system analysis to ensure software compatibility with hardware components.
- Writing and optimising efficient, reusable and scalable embedded code.
- Performing unit testing and debugging to ensure software functionality and reliability.
- Contributing to the documentation and maintenance of software applications.
Total experience: 4 – 6 years
Primary Skills
- 4+ years of experience as an embedded software engineer.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C for embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems
- Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors and hardware-software integration.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART) and device drivers.
Additional Skills
- Working knowledge of software development processes and methodologies.
- Experience with agile software development and embedded system security.
Position Responsibilities
- Interface directly with customers and internal teams and will require solid technical communication skills to clarify requirements and explain implementation details
- Create detailed software requirements documentation based on customer and internal specifications, reviews and clarifications
- Develop and document automotive quality embedded software algorithms based on software requirements, an existing modular platform framework and expectations of future reuse
- Implement software designs in C code to automotive quality expectations utilizing existing development environments and processes
- Develop unit and integration level test plans and perform associated testing both on bench and in target applications
- Coordinate software issue investigation and resolution including bench and vehicle level troubleshooting both internally and onsite with customers
- Participate in global requirement, implementation and issue reviews both internally and with customers
- Other duties as assigned
