Job Summary:

Responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment in the Captive Power Plant. The role involves ensuring the safe and reliable functioning of motors, panels, transformers, switchgear and other electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

Carry out routine inspection of electrical equipment in the power plant.

Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.

Attend electrical faults and breakdowns and support quick restoration.

Maintain motors, MCC, PCC panels, transformers, switchgear and electrical accessories.

Check voltage, current, frequency, load and other electrical parameters.

Carry out cable termination, electrical connections and basic wiring work.

Inspect equipment for abnormal heating, noise, smell, vibration or other abnormalities.

Support equipment start-up and shutdown activities as instructed.

Complete assigned maintenance activities as per schedule.

Maintain proper housekeeping in electrical work areas.

Follow electrical safety procedures, PPE requirements and LOTO practices.

Report equipment abnormalities and major faults to the Electrical Supervisor or Engineer.

Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals.

Understanding of voltage, current, resistance, power, energy and power factor.

Basic knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.

Knowledge of electrical motors and starters.





Basic knowledge of transformers and generators.

Knowledge of MCC, PCC, circuit breakers, MCB, contactors, relays and fuses.

Basic understanding of electrical protection systems.

Knowledge of earthing and electrical safety.

Basic understanding of electrical drawings and Single Line Diagrams (SLD).

Basic awareness of power plant electrical systems.

Skill:

Ability to inspect and maintain electrical motors and panels.

Basic electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to use multimeter, clamp meter, megger and other electrical tools.

Cable termination and electrical connection skills.

Basic panel wiring and maintenance skills.

Ability to identify faulty electrical components.

Ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and SLDs.

Preventive and breakdown maintenance skills.

Ability to safely handle electrical tools and equipment.

Ability:

Ability to respond quickly and safely during electrical breakdowns.

Ability to identify electrical faults systematically.

Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and follow supervisor instructions.

Ability to work safely around HT/LT electrical equipment.

Ability to follow proper isolation and LOTO procedures before maintenance.

Ability to work in a shift-based power plant workplace.

Ability to coordinate with operators and the maintenance team during breakdowns.

Ability to work effectively in a hot, noisy and industrial environment.

Ability to learn power plant electrical systems quickly, especially for freshers.

Ability to follow safety standards and company procedures.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
