Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced EV High-Voltage Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU) design, component sizing, and electrical circuit simulation. The candidate will be responsible for selecting and sizing HV components, performing electrical circuit analysis, and validating BDU circuits through simulation.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and analyze High-Voltage electrical circuits for EV applications, with a primary focus on Battery Disconnect Units (BDU).
- Perform component selection and sizing based on electrical, thermal, and system-level requirements.
- Select and evaluate HV components such as:

Fuses

Contactors

- Pre-charge resistors

- Perform FuseContactor coordination and ensure appropriate protection and switching strategies.
- Conduct EE circuit analysis for HV battery and BDU circuits.
- Develop and validate electrical circuit simulations using LTSpice and MATLAB.
- Analyze circuit behavior during normal operation and transient conditions.
- Support design validation and troubleshooting of HV electrical circuits.
- Use Vector CANape for communication, diagnostics, measurement, and system-level validation.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Battery, BMS, Controls, System Engineering, and Validation teams.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, calculations, simulation results, and design specifications.

Required Skills & Expertise

- 4+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the EV/Automotive industry.
- Strong hands-on experience with High-Voltage electrical systems.
- Good understanding of Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU) architecture and functionality.
- Robust knowledge of component sizing and selection, particularly:

HV Fuses

Contactors

- Pre-charge resistors

- Experience with Fuse–Contactor coordination.
- Strong understanding of electrical/electronic circuit analysis.
- Hands-on experience with LTSpice for circuit simulation.
- Working knowledge of MATLAB for electrical system analysis and simulation.
- Experience with Vector CANape for diagnostics, measurement, and validation.
- Good understanding of EV battery systems, HV safety, and electrical protection concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Experience working with EV battery packs, BMS, HV distribution systems, or power electronics.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical standards and HV safety practices.
