Role & responsibilities: ------

Role Purpose

Lead the end-to-end procurement and sourcing of potato and key agricultural commodities, ensuring uninterrupted supply, optimum quality, competitive cost, and effective working-capital management.

The role will be responsible for developing solid farmer, aggregator, mandi, trader, cold-store, and supplier networks; managing seasonal procurement strategies; monitoring commodity markets; and building a resilient sourcing ecosystem aligned with business requirements.

Responsibilities: ------

- Develop and execute annual and seasonal procurement strategies for potato and other agri commodities.
- Plan procurement based on production requirements, demand forecasts, crop cycles, seasonality, inventory levels, and market conditions.
- Build a diversified sourcing network across major agricultural belts and geographies.
- Develop direct sourcing models from farmers/FPOs/cooperatives wherever commercially viable.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, payment terms, quality parameters, logistics, and other commercial conditions.
- Lead potato sourcing for processing requirements,



including suitable varieties based on product specifications.
- Develop procurement plans around the potato crop calendar and processing season.
- Monitor acreage, crop health, yield expectations, weather conditions, arrivals, and regional availability.
- Ensure procurement of potatoes meeting specifications for size, dry matter, sugar/reducing sugar, defects, maturity, moisture, and processing suitability.
- Continuously track mandi prices, crop arrivals, production estimates, weather, acreage, government policies, import/export developments, and competing demand.
- Deliver procurement savings and cost optimization in line with annual budgets.
- Ensure incoming raw materials comply with agreed specifications and food-safety requirements.

Preferred candidate profile: ---

- 1018 years of relevant experience in procurement/sourcing of agri commodities, preferably potato and/or food-processing raw materials.
- Strong experience in seasonal agricultural procurement and commodity markets.
