About the Role

Hyperrail, India's Intelligent Payment Orchestration Platform, is looking for a DevOps & Production Support Engineer to join our Mumbai technology team.

You will be responsible for the availability, deployment, monitoring, security and operational reliability of our production payment infrastructure, working closely with Integration/Technical Support, DevOps and core engineering teams across India.

Our platform operates on a microservices architecture using technologies including Rust, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker and Kubernetes.

This is a hands-on production role requiring strong infrastructure troubleshooting and incident ownership.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage Linux production servers and cloud infrastructure across Production, Staging and UAT.
- Manage and troubleshoot Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, Nginx, load balancers, DNS, SSL/TLS and networking.
- Monitor and maintain PostgreSQL and Redis infrastructure.
- Execute application deployments, production releases, validation and rollbacks.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and coordinate releases with development teams.
- Monitor infrastructure and application health, including CPU, memory, disk, network, containers, Kubernetes workloads, databases, API availability, response times and error rates.
- Configure monitoring, logging and alerting; investigate anomalies and service degradation.
- Act as a technical escalation point for production incidents, downtime and performance issues.
- Analyse server,



container and application logs to isolate root causes.
- Determine whether incidents are infrastructure-related or application/code-related and coordinate escalation accordingly.
- Document incidents, root causes and corrective actions; participate in post-incident reviews.
- Manage SSH/server access, firewall/network rules, SSL certificates, access controls and infrastructure security updates.
- Support secure deployments and applicable PCI-related infrastructure requirements.
- Monitor PostgreSQL/Redis availability, performance, connections, latency, storage and resource utilisation.
- Support database maintenance, backups, recovery and disaster-recovery procedures.
- Coordinate with engineering teams and payment providers where incidents involve application or API connectivity.
- Maintain accurate infrastructure and operational documentation.

Required Skills
- 3–6 years of hands-on DevOps, Infrastructure or Production Support experience.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Docker Compose and Kubernetes.
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- AWS or equivalent cloud platform experience.
- Working knowledge of Nginx, load balancing and networking fundamentals.
- Solid understanding of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS and SSL/TLS.
- Experience with Git, GitLab or GitHub.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Experience with production monitoring,



logging and alerting.
- Strong production incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to distinguish infrastructure failures from application/code-level failures.

Preferred Technical Skills Hands-on experience with:

AWS EC2 | S3 | ALB | Cloudflare | Kubernetes | Docker | PostgreSQL | Redis | Prometheus | Grafana | ELK/OpenSearch | Terraform | Bash/Python

Experience with high-availability architecture, infrastructure automation, backup/recovery and disaster recovery will be advantageous.

FinTech / Payments Experience

Payment or FinTech infrastructure experience is preferred.

Candidates should ideally understand basic payment concepts including:

Payment APIs | Transaction Lifecycle | Webhooks | Payment Timeouts | Retries | Routing | PSP Downtime | Transaction Failures | Idempotency | Settlement | Reconciliation

What We're Looking For

We want a DevOps engineer who takes end-to-end ownership of production reliability, not someone who simply restarts services or forwards incidents to developers.

When production degrades, you should be comfortable asking:

What failed? What changed? Is infrastructure healthy? What do the logs and metrics show? Is the problem network, container, Kubernetes, database, cache or application related? Can service be restored safely? Does a rollback need to happen? Who needs to be involved next?

You should be able to stabilise, investigate, communicate, escalate appropriately and follow the incident through to resolution and root-cause analysis.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
