Black & Grey HR is hiring for a leading textile and carpet manufacturing company with a strong reputation for craftsmanship and export excellence. Our client is looking for a creative and experienced Carpet Designer to develop distinctive carpet collections and manage product development from initial design concepts through final execution. The ideal candidate should combine robust creative capabilities with technical knowledge of carpet construction, yarns, colours, and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Research global design trends and market insights to develop original carpet concepts and collections.

Create carpet artworks and design layouts using CAD and relevant design software.

Translate creative concepts into commercially viable products through suitable colours, yarns, textures, and constructions.

Oversee the design development cycle from initial artwork and colour selection to sampling and final product approval.





Collaborate with buyers and internal teams to understand design briefs and ensure smooth execution of developments.

Review samples and recommend alternative materials, techniques, or constructions when required.

Track ongoing developments to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

Apply technical knowledge of yarns, textures, materials, and carpet construction methods during product development.

Support showroom displays, collection presentations, and seasonal setups aligned with buyer preferences.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of design experience within the carpet or rug industry. Strong understanding of carpet constructions, yarns, textures, colours, and product development.

Proficiency in CAD and other relevant design software.

Ability to manage multiple design developments and deliver within timelines.

Strong communication and coordination skills for working with buyers and crossfunctional teams.

Educational background from NIFT, NID, or a similar design institution is preferred.
