Job Purpose

To lead the Design & Engineering function, manage machine design projects, ensure timely release of accurate designs, and coordinate engineering activities with all concerned departments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Design & Engineering team.

- Review customer requirements, specifications, URS, and project requirements.

- Plan and allocate design work among Design Engineers, Design Executives, and CAD Designers.

- Review and approve concept designs, GA drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, and detailed drawings.

- Ensure designs meet functional, dimensional, manufacturing, safety, and quality requirements.

- Coordinate closely with Sales, Project Management, Production, Purchase, Quality, R&D;, and Service.

- Review and approve BOMs and engineering specifications.

- Control engineering drawing revisions and Engineering Change Notes/Orders (ECN/ECR).

- Monitor design project schedules and ensure drawings are released as per production requirements.

- Resolve technical problems related to fabrication, machining, assembly, and machine performance.

- Standardize machine components, design practices, drawing formats, and engineering documentation.

- Develop and maintain design standards, SOPs, checklists, and design libraries.

- Review and improve machine designs for cost reduction, reliability, manufacturability, and ease of maintenance.

- Support new product development and R&D; activities.





- Conduct design reviews and risk assessments where required.

- Ensure engineering documentation is complete and properly controlled.

- Guide junior team members and conduct technical training.

- Monitor design errors, rework, customer complaints, and corrective actions.

- Participate in customer technical discussions when required.

- Support FAT/SAT, installation, commissioning, and technical troubleshooting.

- Ensure designs comply with applicable GMP, customer specifications, safety requirements, and relevant engineering standards.

- Prepare departmental performance reports and track design KPIs.

- Experience

- 8–12 years of experience in machine design and engineering, preferably in GMP/pharmaceutical/packaging machinery manufacturing.

- Minimum 3–5 years in a team-lead/managerial role.

- Strong experience in machine concept development, 3D modelling, GA, detailed drawings and BOM.

- Experience managing a design team and multiple projects.

- Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, pneumatic systems, mechanical components and machine assembly.

- Experience in design review, drawing approval, engineering change control and cost optimization.

- Customer-facing technical discussion experience is preferred.

Pay: ₹11,415.74 - ₹45,797.48 per month
