About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team remotely on a full-time basis. This role involves developing and refining manufacturing designs for precision components utilizing FreeCAD. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical design, with the ability to translate technical specifications into detailed 3D models and comprehensive technical drawings suitable for manufacturing processes.

As part of our dynamic team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional departments, including production and engineering, to ensure that designs are both innovative and feasible for manufacturing.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in FreeCAD for 3D modeling and parametric design.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Familiarity with various CAD file formats and data exchange protocols between systems.
- Robust problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:

- Designing and modeling mechanical components using FreeCAD tailored for manufacturing applications.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate design feasibility and optimize manufacturability.
- Modifying existing designs based on feedback from production and engineering teams to improve performance and efficiency.




- Creating and maintaining accurate technical documentation, including detailed drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications.
- Conducting design reviews to identify potential manufacturing challenges and developing effective solutions.
- Ensuring all designs adhere to industry standards and company quality guidelines.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and product quality.
