Job Summary

We are looking for a Data Scientist with 5 - 10 years of experience to solve complex product and business problems using data, statistics, and machine learning.

The role will work with large-scale datasets generated by a digital streaming platform and will focus on areas such as user engagement, content consumption, retention, churn, personalization, recommendations, subscriptions, and product experimentation.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable taking ambiguous business problems, developing analytical approaches, building models, and translating findings into measurable product improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead data science projects from problem definition through analysis, modeling, experimentation and delivery of actionable insights or production-ready models.
- Analyze large-scale user and product datasets to identify trends and behavioral patterns.
- Develop statistical and machine learning models for product and business problems.
- Analyze content consumption, viewing behavior, engagement, retention, churn, and subscription patterns.
- Develop models for customer segmentation, personalization, recommendations, and content discovery.
- Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and product experiments.
- Develop predictive models and evaluate model performance using appropriate statistical techniques.
- Build analytical frameworks and metrics to measure product performance.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, ML, and Analytics teams to productionize data sciencesolutions.




- Perform exploratory data analysis and identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Communicate complex analytical results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior Data Scientists and contribute to data science best practices.
- Ensure analytical solutions are statistically sound, scalable, and reproducible.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- 5-10 years of professional experience in Data Science, Applied Data Science, Product Analytics,or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Solid knowledge of statistics, probability, experimentation, and machine learning.
- Hands-on experience with pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, or equivalent frameworks.
- Experience developing and evaluating predictive models.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets and data warehouses.
- Strong understanding of A/B testing and experimental design.
- Experience communicating analytical findings to product and business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to independently own complex data science projects.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with recommendation systems and personalization.
- Experience with churn, retention, customer lifetime value, or engagement modeling.
- Experience with Spark/PySpark.
- Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar data platforms.
- Experience with causal inference or advanced experimentation.
- Experience working with real-time or large-scale behavioral data.
- Experience partnering with ML Engineers to productionize models.
