Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible, presentable, and customer-friendly Counter Staff member to manage the bakery counter and provide excellent customer service. The candidate should have positive knowledge of bakery products, basic billing skills, and the ability to handle customers and cake orders efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Handle customers professionally and provide friendly and effective customer service.

Attend to customers at the counter and assist them in selecting cakes, pastries, snacks, biscuits, and other bakery products.

Have basic knowledge of cake flavours, sizes, varieties, and bakery products.

Take and record cake orders and customized cake requirements accurately.

Clearly communicate product prices, cake details, availability, and order information to customers.

Handle billing and cash/card/UPI transactions accurately.

Maintain proper records of daily sales and counter transactions.

Ensure cakes and bakery products are properly packed and handed over to customers.

Check cake orders against customer requirements before handing them over.

Maintain proper display and presentation of cakes, pastries, and other bakery products.

Monitor counter stock and inform the concerned person about low-stock or fast-moving products.

Check product freshness and report any damaged, expired, or quality-related issues to the supervisor.





Follow proper FIFO stock rotation at the counter wherever applicable.

Coordinate with the bakery/kitchen team regarding cake orders and product availability.

Handle customer queries, feedback, and routine complaints politely and professionally.

Keep the counter, display area, and surrounding area clean and organized.

Ensure proper opening and closing of the counter as per shift requirements.

Maintain professional behaviour and good coordination with other staff members.

Follow all company rules, hygiene standards, and customer service procedures.

Perform other counter-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Previous experience in bakery counter, retail sales, customer dealing, or a similar role preferred.

Basic knowledge of cakes and bakery products.

Positive communication and customer-handling skills.

Basic billing and cash-handling knowledge.

Basic computer/POS knowledge will be preferred.

Must be polite, punctual, responsible, and well-presented.

Ability to work in rotational shifts and handle a busy bakery counter

Working Hours

7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Experience: 1–2 years preferred

Salary: As per experience and skills.
