We are building a robust sports community where people can easily find others to play with, book a venue, join a game, and become part of an active sporting community.

About the Role

We are looking for an energetic and outgoing Community & Pickup Games Intern who loves sports, meeting people, and building communities.

The core responsibility of this role will be to identify individual sports lovers who want to play but do not have a regular group or players , bring them together, and create regular pickup games, player groups and sports communities around our venues.

The candidate will work across our venues in Delhi NCR, with a major focus on Ghaziabad , and will help create a reliable pool of players for sports such as:

- Football
- Cricket
- Badminton
- Pickleball

Key Responsibilities 1. Build Sports Communities

- Identify individual players looking for people to play with.
- Build WhatsApp, Instagram and other digital communities for different sports.
- Connect players based on sport, location, age group and playing level.
- Keep the community active through regular communication and engagement.

2. Organise Pickup Games

- Plan and coordinate regular pickup games at Smashtress venues.
- Create games based on demand, such as 5v5 football, box cricket, badminton groups, pickleball games, etc.
- Ensure games have sufficient players before the scheduled time.
- Maintain player databases and track regular participants.

3. Player Acquisition

- Find new players through Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp groups, colleges, offices, RWAs, sports groups and local communities.
- Personally reach out to potential players and invite them to join games.




- Convert one-time players into regular community members.

4. Community Engagement

- Regularly communicate with players through WhatsApp and social media.
- Take feedback from players and understand what games and timings they are looking for.
- Create a friendly and welcoming environment for new players.
- Encourage existing players to bring their friends and colleagues.

5. Venue Utilisation & Revenue

- Work closely with venue managers to identify vacant slots and create pickup games around them.
- Help increase utilisation of sports facilities through community games.
- Encourage players to become regular customers of Smashtress.
- Identify opportunities for leagues, tournaments and special community events.

6. Social Media & Content

- Create basic content around pickup games and community activities.
- Share game announcements, player requirements, highlights and upcoming events.
- Encourage players to share their game experiences and tag Smashtress.
- Support the marketing team in generating local sports-community content.

What We Are Looking For
- Passion for sports and understanding of at least one sport.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Someone who enjoys meeting new people and building relationships.
- Active on WhatsApp, Instagram and other social platforms.
- Good networking and convincing skills.
- Comfortable making calls and sending messages to potential players.
- Energetic, proactive and self-driven.
- Willing to travel between Smashtress venues when required.
- Basic knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel is preferred.
- Previous experience in sports, community building, sales, events or social media will be an advantage.





Performance Expectations The candidate will be measured primarily on community growth and actual player activity , rather than only administrative work.

Key KPIs may include

- Number of new players added every month
- Number of active players in each sports community
- Number of pickup games organised
- Average players per game
- Repeat participation rate
- Number of new players converted into regular players
- Venue bookings generated through the community
- Revenue generated through pickup games
- Number of active WhatsApp/sports groups
- Player satisfaction and feedback

Compensation Structure Fixed Stipend + Performance Incentive The fixed component will provide a stable monthly stipend, while the incentive component will reward the candidate for measurable outcomes such as:

- New active player acquisition
- Successful pickup games
- Recurring player participation
- Revenue/booking generated through community games
- Growth of sports communities
