About the Role
We are seeking a sharp, legally qualified Contracts & Privacy Lawyer with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience to join their high-performing Enterprise Privacy and Legal function. This is a 1-year contract role with robust extension potential, focusing heavily on commercial contract vetting, AI governance, and European data protection compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently review, redline, and draft Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Master Services Agreements (MSAs), and vendor/internal contracts with a focus on privacy and AI clauses.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders on enterprise AI governance and review AI-enabled tools from a legal risk perspective.
- Interpret and operationalize evolving European regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, GDPR, PECR, and cookie regulations).
- Maintain privacy risk workflows, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs).
- Deliver expert legal advisory and compliance support on IT, operational risk, and data protection matters.
Candidate Profile & Requirements:
- Law Graduate (LLB / LLM) with 35 years of relevant experience in commercial contract drafting/vetting and data privacy law.
- Prior experience in top-tier law firms, IT services, or financial GCCs handling technology and vendor contracts.
- Solid working knowledge of GDPR, the EU AI Act, and digital privacy laws (PECR).
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and documentation skills with strong attention to legal risk mitigation.
