Cloud & Infrastructure Practice Lead / Solution Architect (IMS)

Cloud & Infrastructure AWS / Azure / GCP DevOps & SRE ITIL / ITSM Cybersecurity & Resilience Practice Leadership

Key Responsibilities

- Define and drive the strategy, offerings, and roadmap for Tachyon's Cloud & Infrastructure (IMS) practice.
- Own practice-level revenue and P&L; targets, working closely with sales and account teams to build and convert
- pipeline.
- Build senior executive relationships with client CIOs and CISOs, and create opportunities that precede formal RFPs,
- not just respond to them.
- Build out team structure and hiring plans, and help recruit, mentor, and retain cloud engineers, DevOps/SRE
- specialists, and architects.
- Develop reusable accelerators, landing zone templates, and reference architectures that differentiate Tachyon in
- client pursuits.
- Define the go-to-market approach and partnerships (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle) that
- strengthen the practice.
- Serve as lead architect for cloud migration, modernization, and managed services engagements across AWS, Azure,
- and GCP.
- Own on-prem, network, and database managed services offerings as part of the practice's overall portfolio.
- Design and oversee ITIL/ITSM managed services offerings, including incident, problem, and change management
- delivery.
- Architect DevOps, SecOps, and SRE solutions, and guide delivery teams on CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and
- observability best practices.
- Define infrastructure governance, security, resilience, and on-prem, network, and database service standards
- appropriate to each client's setting.
- Review and approve technical designs across the practice's active engagements, and act as an escalation point for
- complex delivery issues.
- Lead technical discovery with prospective clients to understand current-state infrastructure maturity and define target
- architecture.
- Support proposals, RFP responses, solution estimation, and effort sizing for IMS and Cloud & Infrastructure
- opportunities.




- Run or oversee POCs and technical demonstrations that showcase the practice's capabilities.
- Represent Tachyon in client workshops, architecture reviews, and executive-level conversations with client CTOs,
- CIOs, and infrastructure leadership.
- Coach and upskill architects and engineers within the practice on modern cloud, DevOps, and AIOps technologies.
- Stay current on emerging trends in cloud platforms, DevOps, cybersecurity, and AI-driven infrastructure operations,
- and translate them into practical offerings.
- Contribute to internal training, case studies, and external thought leadership that raises the practice's visibility.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- 12+ years in infrastructure engineering, cloud architecture, or IT operations, including some experience leading
- technical teams, owning client accounts, or running a workstream, ideally within an IT services or consulting
- organization.
- A career spanning traditional on-prem, network, and database administration and ITIL/ITSM managed services that
- has since evolved into modern cloud architecture and DevOps/SRE practice.
- Deep hands-on expertise across cloud migration, landing zones, infrastructure as code, containers, and managed
- services delivery.
- Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its native infrastructure and
- security services, plus working familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of ITSM/ITIL frameworks and DevOps toolchains (CI/CD, monitoring, automation).
- Hungry to build and own a practice:



comfortable with offering development, team building, and growing into revenue
- and P&L; accountability rather than having necessarily carried a quota already.
- Strong client-facing skills, including pre-sales and proposal development, with the drive to build toward executive
- relationships with client CTOs, CISOs, or infrastructure leadership.
- Hungry, passionate, and genuinely excited to build something, not just run what already exists, with the intent to grow
- long term with Tachyon rather than treat this as a stepping stone elsewhere.

Preferred Qualifications

- Exposure to cybersecurity and resilience, FinOps and cost optimization, and Zero Trust security architecture.
- Exposure to SRE/AIOps practices and AI-driven infrastructure operations (predictive monitoring, self-healing,
- intelligent automation).
- Cloud or platform certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
- Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or ITIL v4).
- Experience serving enterprise clients across industries within an IT services model, ideally spanning US, Canada,
- Middle East, or other global markets.
- Experience collaborating with globally distributed delivery organizations across onshore and offshore models.

Technical Skills

- On-prem & data center: Windows/Linux server administration, VMware, storage and network services, SQL Server
- and Oracle database services.
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, compute, storage,
- networking, landing zones, and migration tooling.
- DevOps & SRE: Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions),
- monitoring (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus/Grafana).
- Security & resilience: Zero Trust architecture, identity and access management, backup/DR, vulnerability and
- compliance management.
- Service management: ITSM/ITIL v4 practices, incident, problem, and change management, service delivery tooling.
