Role Overview The Solar Specialist will serve as a sector expert providing insights, strategy guidance, and implementation support across the solar energy value chain. The role requires strong understanding of technology, manufacturing ecosystems, policy frameworks, and project development. The candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams, industry partners, and government stakeholders to support market development, manufacturing competitiveness, and solar project deployment.

Location: New Delhi (onsite at client location)

Experience Required: 7+ years

Qualification: Masters degree in Engineering, Technology, Finance, Renewable Energy, or Energy Management

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Solar PV Manufacturing & Localisation Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of solar PV manufacturing localisation strategies across cells, modules, and critical components. Define phased localisation pathways that balance cost competitiveness, technology maturity, supplychain readiness, and national manufacturing priorities, including alignment with DCR, ALMM, and related frameworks.

2. Track Global Technology & Market Trends: Monitor global developments in solar PV technologies, manufacturing processes, equipment evolution, materials innovation, and OEM business models. Translate international technology and market trends into actionable insights to inform domestic manufacturing strategy, policy design, and industry decisionmaking.

3. Engage with OEMs and Tier I/II Suppliers: Build and maintain strong working relationships with global and domestic PV manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and Tier I/II component vendors. Facilitate technical discussions on technology transfer, joint ventures, contract manufacturing, and localisation commitments, supporting longterm ecosystem development.

1. Support Policy Measures for Competitive Manufacturing: Provide technical and technocommercial inputs to policy and programme design related to domestic manufacturing incentives,



quality and performance standards, ALMM/DCR implementation, and export competitiveness. Support the creation of an enabling policy environment for highquality, globally competitive solar PV manufacturing.

5. Drive Export Potential & Market Diversification: Assess global solar market demand and trade dynamics to identify export opportunities for Indianmanufactured PV cells, modules, and components. Recommend strategies to strengthen India’s role in global PV supply chains, including diversification across geographies and product segments.

1. Conduct Solar PV Value Chain Assessments: Analyse endtoend solar PV manufacturing value chains to identify capability gaps, cost drivers, supplychain bottlenecks, and technology risks. Recommend targeted interventions such as R&D; partnerships, pilot manufacturing lines, workforce development, infrastructure support, and standards/testing capacity strengthening.
2. Coordinate with Key Stakeholders: Engage closely with government ministries and agencies, project developers, OEMs, financial institutions, R&D; organisations, testing and certification bodies, and industry associations. Support industry consultations and crossstakeholder coordination to improve manufacturing readiness, compliance, and global competitiveness of the domestic solar PV ecosystem.
