About the Role

Stone Art by SKL is looking for a hands-on Production & Quality Supervisor to manage day-to-day execution of customised natural-stone products, architectural panels, CNC work, stone cladding, carved surfaces and bespoke stone elements.

The person will be responsible for taking each project from material inspection through production, quality control, packing and dispatch, while maintaining accurate daily production reporting.

This is a shop-floor ownership role. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working directly with production workers, inspecting stone and finished products, reading technical drawings and reporting issues proactively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Material Inspection & Verification

* Inspect incoming marble, sandstone, limestone and other materials.
- Verify stone type, colour, shade, thickness, quantity and surface quality against approved requirements.
- Identify cracks, patches, colour variation, veins, filling, breakage and other defects.
- Ensure the correct material is allocated to the correct project.
- Report material discrepancies immediately.

1. Drawing & Technical Understanding

* Read and understand architectural, fabrication and production drawings.
- Interpret dimensions, sections, elevations, profiles, piece numbers and installation references.
- Verify that production is being executed according to approved drawings.
- Coordinate with the design/drawing team when clarification is required.
- Prevent production from proceeding on unclear or incorrect drawings.

1. Production Supervision

* Prepare and maintain daily production priorities.
- Allocate manpower according to project requirements.
- Monitor cutting, CNC, carving, profiling, finishing, polishing, assembly and other production processes.
- Track production quantity against planned quantity.




- Identify bottlenecks and delays before they affect delivery schedules.
- Ensure workers follow approved processes and production instructions.

1. Quality Control

* Conduct in-process and final inspections.
- Check dimensions using appropriate measuring tools.
- Check profiles, edges, joints, surface finish, carving depth and workmanship.
- Compare finished pieces against approved drawings and samples.
- Identify defects and segregate rejected/rework material.
- Maintain records of rejection, rework and wastage.
- Ensure only approved material proceeds to packing.

1. Daily Production Reporting

Prepare a daily production report covering:
- Project / Order
- Drawing / Wall / Item reference
- Planned quantity
- Produced quantity
- Balance quantity
- Current production stage
- Manpower deployed
- Quality issues
- Rework / rejection
- Material shortages
- Production delays
- Photographic evidence
- Expected completion date
- Action required from management The report must be accurate enough for management to understand the factory status without physically visiting the production floor.

1. Packing & Dispatch

* Verify finished quantities before packing.
- Ensure pieces are correctly identified and labelled.
- Check packing quality and protection against damage during transportation.
- Verify crate/pallet loading sequence.
- Coordinate with dispatch/logistics team.
- Conduct final dispatch inspection and sign off material before loading.

1. Team & Shop-Floor Management

* Supervise production workers and helpers.
- Maintain discipline and productivity.
- Allocate manpower according to daily priorities.
- Monitor attendance and manpower utilisation.




- Ensure safe handling of stone and proper use of PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the production area.

Candidate Profile

Education

- Diploma / ITI / Graduate preferred.
- Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Civil / related technical field is an advantage.

Experience

- 3–7 years of production/factory supervision experience.
- Experience in natural stone, marble, granite, architectural products, furniture, handicrafts, CNC fabrication or similar manufacturing will be preferred.

Must Have

- Ability to read technical/production drawings.
- Good understanding of dimensions and measurements.
- Strong quality-control mindset.
- Positive Excel / Google Sheets skills.
- Ability to prepare daily production reports.
- Strong manpower-handling skills.
- Ability to identify problems without waiting for management instructions.
- Willingness to spend most of the day on the shop floor.

Preferred

- Natural stone / marble experience.
- CNC production exposure.
- Experience with architectural products or customised manufacturing.
- Basic AutoCAD drawing understanding.
- Experience with export packing and dispatch.

Important This is not an administrative reporting position.

The candidate is expected to physically inspect material, walk the production floor, measure finished products, interact with workers, check drawings, identify defects, verify packing and take ownership of daily production progress.

Salary: ₹30,000–₹45,000 per month, depending on experience and technical capability.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
