About the role The Workfolk is hiring on behalf of RNG Group.

RNG Group is a Kanpur-based group with businesses across several sectors. We are hiring a Chartered Accountant to join the finance team at the group's head office in Kanpur.

This is a role for someone early in their career who wants range. Because the group runs more than one business, you will not be doing the same three tasks every month. You will see accounts, tax, audit, banking, and MIS across different kinds of businesses, and you will be close to the people who make the decisions.

What you will be doing

- Maintaining and closing the books for the group companies, month on month
- GST returns, TDS and TCS workings and filings, advance tax and the reconciliations that go with them
- Supporting statutory and internal audits, and coordinating with the auditors
- Monthly MIS: profit and loss, cash flow, debtor and creditor ageing, and whatever else management needs to see
- Bank, vendor and customer reconciliations
- Helping build the budgets, and explaining where the actuals moved away from them
- Working with the bankers on documentation, stock statements and limit renewals
- Assisting with ROC filings, notices and assessments
- Spending time at the businesses when needed, so you understand how the numbers are actually generated

Who we are looking for




- A qualified Chartered Accountant with up to about two years of experience, articleship included. Freshers are welcome.
- We are also open to candidates who have appeared for the CA Final and have not cleared it yet, or who have cleared CA Inter. If your articleship was solid and your fundamentals are robust, please apply. You will be judged on what you know and how you think.
- Comfortable with Tally or any ERP, and properly comfortable in Excel
- Sound on accounting standards, GST, and TDS, at the level of someone who has done the work rather than only read about it
- Careful, willing to ask questions, and able to explain a number to someone who does not work in finance
- Based in Kanpur, or ready to move here

You will not be one of forty juniors handling one small piece of a large process. You will own your work, you will see it end to end, and you will be working directly with senior management. For someone who has just qualified, the range you get across sectors in the first few years is hard to match.

Location: Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This is a full-time, work-from-office role.
