Business Head - Precision Engineering & Industrial Manufacturing

Objective of the Role:

To lead the overall business with end-to-end P&L; responsibility, driving profitable growth, operational excellence and long-term value creation. The role will be responsible for developing and executing the business strategy, expanding customer and market presence, strengthening manufacturing capabilities, improving margins and productivity, and building a high-performance leadership team to support the organization's next phase of growth.

The Business Head will work closely with the Board/Promoters to translate the organization's growth ambitions into clear business plans and measurable outcomes, while ensuring robust governance, customer focus, operational discipline and sustainable profitability.

Key Roles & Responsibility:

1. Business Strategy & P&L; Leadership

- Own the complete P&L; and balance-sheet performance of the business.
- Develop and execute short-, medium- and long-term business strategies aligned with the Board's growth objectives.
- Drive revenue growth, EBITDA improvement, cash generation and return on capital.
- Identify new business opportunities, markets, applications and customer segments.
- Establish clear business KPIs and drive performance through a structured review mechanism.

2. Business Growth & Market Expansion

- Develop and execute strategies to scale the business significantly over the next 3–5 years.
- Strengthen relationships with key customers and develop strategic accounts.
- Identify and convert new customers across automotive, industrial, mobility and other relevant sectors.
- Drive new product/business development in partnership with Engineering, Sales and Operations.
- Evaluate opportunities for geographic expansion, new applications, partnerships and strategic alliances.

3. Customer & Commercial Leadership

- Build strong relationships with CXO-level stakeholders across key customers.
- Drive customer acquisition, retention and share-of-business expansion.
- Improve commercial discipline, pricing, product mix and contribution margins.
- Ensure effective management of RFQs, negotiations, contracts and long-term customer programs.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address critical business issues.

4. Manufacturing & Operational Excellence

- Lead manufacturing operations across plants with focus on productivity, quality, delivery and cost competitiveness.
- Improve capacity utilization, OEE,



throughput and overall asset productivity.
- Drive lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Optimize manufacturing footprint, capacity planning and capital deployment.
- Ensure scalability of operations in line with the business growth plan.

5. Quality & Customer Excellence

- Establish a strong zero-defect and customer-centric quality culture.
- Drive improvements in customer PPM, complaints, COPQ and process capability.
- Strengthen Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing collaboration.
- Ensure adherence to applicable industry standards, customer requirements and regulatory expectations.

6. Technology, Engineering & Innovation

- Drive technology development and modernization of manufacturing capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for automation, digitalization and Industry 4.0 adoption.
- Encourage development of new products, processes and value-added engineering solutions.
- Build a technology roadmap aligned with future customer and market requirements.

7. Supply Chain & Cost Leadership

- Strengthen sourcing, supplier development and supply-chain resilience.
- Improve material cost, inventory turns, working capital and procurement effectiveness.
- Develop alternate sources and mitigate supply-chain risks.
- Drive localization and cost-reduction initiatives wherever commercially and technically viable.

8. Capital & Investment Management

- Lead CAPEX planning based on business growth and capacity requirements.
- Evaluate investments in new plants, machinery, automation and technology.
- Ensure effective utilization and return on invested capital.
- Support the Board in evaluating acquisitions, partnerships or other strategic investments.

9. Organization & Leadership Development

- Build a strong second line of leadership across Business Development, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, HR and Supply Chain.
- Establish a performance-driven and accountable organizational culture.
- Identify critical talent gaps and strengthen succession planning.
- Mentor and develop functional leaders to support future business scale.

10. Governance & Board Management





- Provide the Board/Promoters with regular updates on business performance, risks, opportunities and strategic priorities.
- Establish robust governance, MIS and business-review mechanisms.
- Identify business risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance, ethical business practices and effective internal controls.

Candidate Profile / Requirements

- 20 years of overall experience, with significant leadership experience in precision engineering, industrial manufacturing, automotive components, engineering products or allied manufacturing sectors.
- Should have handled end-to-end P&L; responsibility for a sizeable business, preferably ₹300 Cr , with experience managing revenue, EBITDA, working capital and overall business performance.
- Proven track record of scaling a business, developing new markets/customers and delivering profitable growth.
- Strong understanding of B2B manufacturing business models, preferably serving Automotive, Industrial, Mobility, Engineering or other technology-driven sectors.
- Experience in managing multi-functional and multi-plant operations, including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Sales & Business Development, Supply Chain, Finance and HR.
- Strong exposure to precision manufacturing, engineered components, machining/process technologies and high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience in customer development, strategic account management and new business acquisition, including CXO-level customer relationships.
- Strong commercial orientation with the ability to drive pricing, product mix, cost competitiveness and margin improvement.
- Experience in developing and executing 3–5 year business strategies, including capacity expansion, new product introduction, technology investments and market diversification.
- Strong understanding of operational excellence, lean manufacturing, productivity improvement, quality and supply-chain optimization.
- Exposure to CAPEX planning, plant expansion, automation, digitalization and technology upgradation.
- Experience in working closely with Promoters / Board / Investors and presenting business strategy, performance and growth plans.
- Should have demonstrated ability to build leadership teams, develop second-line talent and create a performance-driven organization.
- Experience in international markets / exports / global customers would be an advantage.
