Summary

UST is looking for Backend/API developer The Opportunity

- We are seeking an experienced AWS + API Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
- You will work on microservices architectures, optimize cloud infrastructure, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and performance Architect and deploy cloud solutions on AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or SAM Optimize database performance and design schemas for relational and NoSQL databases
- Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices (OAuth, JWT, IAM roles) Monitor, debug, and optimize API performance using CloudWatch, X-Ray, and other AWS monitoring tools
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of professional experience in backend/API development
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or similar)




- 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing REST/GraphQL APIs Solid understanding of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB)
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS preferred)
- Familiarity with Git and agile development practices Strong problem-solving skills and ability to write clean, maintainable code

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions) Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK)
- Experience with message queues (SQS, SNS, Kafka) AWS certification (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or higher)
- Experience with API testing, security, and rate limiting Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Recent Relic)
