Build Reliable Backend Systems at Scale

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer – Node.js to build, scale, and maintain reliable backend services powering our fintech ecosystem.

You’ll work across Node.js, REST APIs, databases, distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, security, testing, and production reliability—solving real engineering problems rather than simply building individual APIs.

What You’ll Work On

Build and scale Node.js backend services and REST APIs for production systems.

Design business logic, asynchronous workflows, integrations, and distributed processes.

Work with relational and NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging systems.

Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability.

Debug production issues and design for failures, edge cases, retries, and graceful recovery.

Participate in system architecture, technical discussions, code reviews, and engineering improvements.

Build secure APIs with appropriate authentication, authorization, validation, rate limiting, and error handling.

Develop unit and integration tests with solid coverage of critical and failure scenarios.

Required Technical Skills

Node.js & Backend Development

Strong hands-on experience with Node.js in production.

Strong understanding of Event Loop, Promises, async/await, concurrency, and I/O.





Experience with Express.js, Fastify, NestJS, or equivalent frameworks.

Strong REST API design experience including middleware, validation, pagination, versioning, and error handling.

Databases

Experience with PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL, or equivalent relational databases.

Working knowledge of MongoDB or NoSQL databases.

Understanding of transactions, indexing, query optimization, connection pooling, and data modelling.

Redis / caching experience is an advantage.

Security & Reliability

Understanding of OWASP API Security principles.

Experience with JWT, OAuth2, RBAC, secure API design, input validation, and secrets management.

Understanding of timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, idempotency, and graceful failure.

Testing & Engineering Practices

Experience with unit and integration testing.

Strong understanding of modular architecture, separation of concerns, and dependency isolation.

Experience with Git, code reviews, debugging, and production support.

Good to Have

Microservices and event-driven architecture.

Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or similar messaging systems.

Docker and CI/CD.

AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Structured logging, correlation IDs, metrics, and monitoring.

Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.

Experience with health checks, graceful shutdown, and horizontal scaling.





Understanding of eventual consistency, dead-letter queues, and Transactional Outbox.
