Fidus Law Chambers is looking for an Associate to join its Litigation Team in its Mumbai office.
Eligibility and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in law with eligibility to practise before the Bombay High Court.
- At least 2–3 years of post-qualification experience in intellectual property litigation, whether at an IP-focused or full-service law firm or in chambers.
- Experience appearing before the Bombay High Court in intellectual property matters.
- Strong working knowledge of Bombay High Court Original Side procedure, including the drafting and conduct of suits, appeals, interim applications and miscellaneous petitions.
- Experience in trade mark prosecution before the Trade Marks Registry.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to take responsibility for all aspects of a matter while working closely within a small team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, sound judgement, solid interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
Key responsibilities
- Drafting legal notices, plaints, written statements, interim applications and other pleadings and documents for filing before the Bombay High Court.
- Attending hearings before the Bombay High Court and briefing counsel or senior counsel, where required.
- Handling trade mark prosecution before the Trade Marks Registry.
- Providing clients with practical, commercially informed legal advice.
This is not an entry-level position; applicants should have at least two years of relevant post-qualification experience.
