ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assistant Manager – Projects
Department - Projects
Designation - Assistant Manager – Projects
Reports To- Project Manager / AGM – Projects
Minimum Experience: 3-4 yrs
Education: Engineer
Salary: 20k to 30k
Location - Project Site / Head Office, as applicable
1. Project Planning & Execution
· Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing projects within the approved scope, budget, quality standards, and timeline.
· Prepare and monitor project schedules, work plans, and activity-wise targets.
· Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and O&M; teams to ensure smooth project execution.
· Monitor daily and weekly progress against planned milestones and identify delays or deviations.
2. Site Coordination & Supervision
· Supervise day-to-day project activities at site and ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
· Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.
· Ensure proper deployment of manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources.
· Resolve routine site issues and escalate critical matters to the Project Manager.
3. Client & Consultant Coordination
· Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
· Attend project review meetings and provide updates on progress, challenges, and action points.
· Ensure timely submission and closure of client/consultant comments and observations.
· Support the Project Manager in maintaining strong client relationships.
4. Procurement & Material Coordination
· Coordinate with the Purchase/Procurement team for timely procurement and delivery of project materials.
· Track material requirements, purchase orders, dispatches, and site deliveries.
· Ensure materials received at site are checked against specifications and approved requirements.
· Highlight material shortages or procurement delays that may affect project schedules.
5. Cost & Commercial Control
· Assist in monitoring project costs against the approved budget.
· Track material consumption, manpower costs, subcontractor expenses, and other project-related expenditures.
· Support preparation and verification of BOQs, measurements, RA bills, variation claims, and additional works.
· Identify potential cost overruns and report them to the Project Manager.
6. Quality & Safety
· Ensure project activities comply with approved QA/QC procedures, technical specifications, and applicable standards.
· Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections, testing, documentation, and closure of non-conformities.
· Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and statutory requirements.
· Promote protected working practices among employees, subcontractors, and site personnel.
7. Documentation & Reporting
· Maintain proper project documentation, including drawings, approvals, inspection reports, test reports, site instructions, MOMs, and correspondence.
· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
· Maintain project trackers for activities, materials, manpower, issues, risks, and pending actions.
· Ensure timely updating and submission of project records.
8. Commissioning & Handover
· Assist in planning and coordinating equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and trial runs.
· Coordinate with vendors and technical teams during commissioning.
· Ensure punch points and defects are identified and closed within the agreed timeline.
· Support preparation of as-built drawings, O&M; manuals, test reports, and handover documents.
9. Team Management
· Coordinate and guide project engineers, supervisors, technicians, and other site personnel.
· Allocate work and monitor team performance against project requirements.
· Conduct regular site coordination meetings and follow up on action items.
· Encourage teamwork, accountability, and timely completion of assigned activities.
10. Risk & Issue Management
· Identify potential project risks related to time, cost, quality, manpower, procurement, and technical issues.
· Develop corrective actions and follow up for timely resolution.
· Escalate critical risks and delays to the Project Manager/Management without delay.

Overall Responsibility To support the Project Manager in ensuring that assigned projects are executed safely, efficiently, within budget and schedule, and in accordance with technical, quality, contractual, and client requirements.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
