CSA Engineering is seeking a motivated and organised Assistant Project Manager to join our Industrial / Mechanical Engineering Team.
The successful candidate will support the Project Manager in coordinating engineering projects from initial enquiry through design, analysis, certification and final delivery. The role involves working closely with engineers, designers, clients and suppliers to ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines, budgets and technical requirements.
Our projects cover a wide range of industrial and mechanical engineering applications, including pressure vessels, trailers, industrial equipment, process plants, lifting equipment and custom machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling and coordinating multiple engineering projects.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, task lists, Gantt charts and progress reports.
- Monitor project milestones, deadlines and deliverable status.
- Coordinate engineering tasks and follow up with team members to ensure timely completion.
- Identify potential delays and escalate project risks to the Project Manager.
Engineering Deliverables and Documentation
- Prepare and maintain project deliverable registers, drawing registers and document tracking sheets.
- Coordinate the preparation, review and submission of engineering drawings, calculations, reports and certification documents.
- Monitor document revisions and ensure the latest approved versions are issued.
- Maintain accurate project records and organise technical documentation.
Client and Supplier Coordination
- Communicate with clients regarding project progress, technical queries and outstanding information.
- Prepare meeting agendas, record meeting minutes and follow up on action items.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain quotations, drawings, specifications and other technical information.
- Assist in resolving project-related queries in consultation with the engineering team.
Project Cost and Resource Monitoring
- Assist with preparing project quotations, scope of work documents and estimated engineering hours.
- Track actual project hours against estimated budgets.
- Support resource allocation and workload planning across the engineering team.
- Coordinate with the accounts team regarding project milestones and invoicing requirements.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure project documentation follows company procedures and quality requirements.
- Assist in tracking design reviews, technical approvals and certification requirements.
- Support engineers in maintaining compliance with applicable Australian Standards and project specifications.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in engineering project coordination, project management or a similar role. Fresh graduates with strong project coordination skills may also be considered.
- Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and engineering project workflows.
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to prepare project schedules, progress reports and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow up on tasks independently.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in an engineering consultancy, manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, CAD software and technical documentation.
- Exposure to pressure vessels, trailers, industrial machinery, process plants or structural engineering projects.
- Knowledge of Australian Standards and engineering certification processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Gantt charts or other project management tools.
- Understanding of engineering quotations, project budgets and resource planning.
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per year
