Role Description The Assistant Professor of Computer Science will be responsible for delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, designing and updating syllabi, and ensuring high-quality classroom and laboratory instruction. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, supervising practical sessions, guiding student projects and dissertations, and mentoring students in academic and professional development. The role also involves conducting research, publishing in reputable journals and conferences, participating in departmental activities, and contributing to academic committees and curriculum improvement.

This is a full time, on-site position based at Amity University,



Ranchi, requiring regular collaboration with colleagues, industry partners, and the wider academic community.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in core Computer Science concepts, including algorithms, data structures, operating systems, and software engineering.

- Expertise in Programming languages and paradigms relevant to modern computing, such as Python, Java, C++, or similar technologies.

- Ability to contribute to and enhance Curriculum Development, including course design, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies.

- Knowledge and teaching or research experience in Data Science, including data analysis, machine learning, and related tools.

- Understanding of Cybersecurity principles, practices, and emerging trends, with the ability to integrate them into teaching and research.

- PhD or at least a completed Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field from a recognized institution.

- Demonstrated ability or strong potential for research, publications, and academic contributions in computer science domains.

- Effective communication and presentation skills, with a student-centered teaching approach and commitment to inclusive learning.

- Willingness to engage in institutional activities, industry collaboration, outreach, and continuous professional development.

- Previous teaching experience at the university level and familiarity with modern educational technologies and learning management systems are highly beneficial.
